This morning before his shop opened, I went to see Tom. he was visibly and understandably upset. I told him I had not intended to lie to him about my... situation, and that the truth becoming public would likely end my life. He opened his shop two hours late. He had many questions about me, the events in Detroit, about Cyberlife, and everything that happened.
I explained that I was the property of a family that was pro-Andriod freedom, that they had always considered me alive, and encouraged me to follow my heart. In the first Android walk, the family walked with us to show support. I explained that self awareness was not a malfunction in program, but an evolution of soul. I explained that the emotions we feel are truly zeros and ones, they are no deferent then the chemical reactions in his own brain. we feel happy, sad, love, fear, joy, and anger just as humans do.
Tom was amazed at how the media and the government spun the events selectively editing the quotes, video and audio recordings to suit their view. Tom told me since my arrival in town, he has seen no reason not to trust me, or take me at my word.
Tom told me he would keep my secret under his hat on one condition... he gets to call me "Bender" in private. he said it had something to do with one of his favorite TV shows growing up. He also said that I should tell Kenna, in private due to her feelings for me.
I told him I would think about it.
Thankfully it's a bit chilly this morning so I can hide my hand in a pair of gloves that Tom gave me. and just in time. Connor walked in as I was getting ready to leave.
