Last night as Kenna Tom and I were cleaning up from dinner, there was a knock at the door.
It was Connor with the State police and Stockbridge's police chief. I had spoken with the Chief a few times, he seemed like a decent enough man.
Chief told me that the MSP and Connor wanted to ask me a few questions as the land owner, and that he was there to make sure I wasn't harassed or abused. That he had been present to all questioning at resident's homes for the same reason: To protect his community.
I reluctantly agreed, and was read my "rights" The State Trooper told me I was legally allowed to end the questions at any time, because I was not under arrest or even being detained.
Connor asked several mundane questions, I assume to get a baseline. I very slowly continued to wash dishes so I didn't have to look him in the eyes. He asked about my relationship with Kenna, to which I retold our planned story of our long term relationship.
Connor then asked more direct questions about my past, where I grew up, what schools I went to, obviously in possession of school records from across the country to cross reference, about the nature of my intimate relationship with Kenna. And this is where Chief cut him off, saying he doesn't see how that is in any way relevant to the investigation.
I choose not to answer any questions after and including the school of attendance question. I told him I was done, if he had any more questions he could contact my lawyer, and to please leave my house.
Connor looked a hole straight through me and said "We will speak again."
Kenna replied: "No you wont. you will leave my man alone."
I think I know what love is now. and I think I am falling in love with Kenna.
