It did not take long for the posting to be filled. Kenna and I met with the students, and selected 2 to help me with the machines, and one to help Kenna in the house with the insulation and electrical and plumbing.
While Zach was very good at moving the machines, I was amazed at how well Kelly worked with the motors. She even pushed me aside when she noticed I was making a mistake connecting hoses for the hydraulic system. I was very impressed
Nearing the end of the say, Kelly asked to speak with me away from the others. Moving to the other room, she flatly asked me what my model number was. Shocked I tried to joke the question away, but she insisted. She said she could hear my processor clicking when I was thinking, and said that was an issue with the rx-2306 series, and that it was a dead giveaway. I asked her, begged her not to tell anyone. She assured me that she was pro liberation, and was disgusted at how Androids were treated.
This amazed me, especially since growing up she likely had only heard the media claims of violence. Kelly mentioned that she might be able to help me hide the clicks that my processor makes, and that she would be back in the morning with her tools, and supplies she needed.
Before she left, she turned back to me, and with a wink said "I guess you found yourself a mechanic. Don't worry, I wont charge too much." I replied with a Thank you Dr Kelly.
Before bed, I told Kenna what Kelly said, Kenna was worried, but said she'd know Kelly in passing all her life, and that she was a good kid.
