I have decided on a layout for the corm maze, however I am having a hard time getting the mower started. I sent a text to Tom asking if he could come over later and take a look.
Tom replied that he would be happy to. He went on to say that the State police and Connor had been to his shop, and was asking odd questions. If Tom had seen anyone suspicious, or out of place in the area. Who was new in town, how well he knew the new-commers. This makes me nervous.
I know there's no way he could recognize my face from Detroit five years ago, but I hope he just leaves. Life has been peaceful here. I want it to stay that way.
Kenna called this morning and asked if I wanted to join her for breakfast. I respectfully declined, saying It's not that I don't enjoy her company, I just have a lot of work to do on the farm. A lie. I know she wants more then I can ever give her. I need to limit my interactions with the people here to keep who I am a secret.
Since the Whitehouse signed that order, interactions have been... problematic at best, dangerous at worst. Not just for me, but for anyone I interact with.
Maybe I just just vanish and move on, but I think that would be more dangerous then just sitting tight and waiting for Connor to leave.
