Opening day could not have gone better! Everyone enjoyed the maze, Kenna made over $1000 with the food truck, people demanded I put out a donation box, all the traps and jump scares triggered and reset perfectly.
There was laughter, screams, joy, fear, it went flawlessly. Tom started a spontaneous haunted hay ride with some of the staff from the high school, even Chief got in on it, rolling up on the hayride lights and siren warning of some random freaky danger in the bush.
All this is teaching me how to more naturally express emotion.
After we closed for the night, Kenna was exhausted and asked to stay the night. As we lay there, her sleeping, her head on my chest, I thought about that sadness I saw in her eyes. and about how much I care for her. How I want to take any sadness away from her.
I cant wait to see what happens today.
