A/N: Mandarin - Death Mode :)
The moons were out, casting their friendly light over the mountain. Everyone had gone to their caves to sleep. Only three dragons were awake now. Thistle knew it was time. Midnight. Cedar and Dusky were heavy sleepers, making it easier to sneak out. Silently slipping out of the cave, He quietly hurried down the hall towards the meeting spot.
His heart thudded as he remembered.
Midnight. Five caves down from the art cave. Be there.
Thistle felt eyes watching him. He turned around, only to see shadows staring from the corners of the halls, avoiding the dimly lit firefly globes lining the hallway. He shivered. "I don't like this." He murmured and walked into the right cave.
No one was there.
Where is she?! He thought, confused. The cave was empty. Isolated. Shadowy. He wanted to kick himself. I'm so stupid, thinking that she'd actually teach me, he thought, sighing irritably.
"You silly nungleberry," a voice said from the air.
(A/N: my new favourite word to say: Nungleberry- meaning a really big idiot.)
Thistle jumped, looking around, scowling when the rainwing faded into view.
"What was that for?!" he snarled, and Mandarin looked at him like it was the most stupidest question in the world. "Why not?" she shrugged, and Thistle groaned. "Can we just get into learning?" he asked impatiently. Mandarin just stood there, looking at him seriously.
"Attack me," she said in a low tone. Thistle didn't wait for her to say go, and he hurled himself at the rainwing.
In a neat, quick move, Mandarin flipped him over her head, slamming him to the ground. Breathless, Thistle scrambled up, about to take the next blow, when she knocked his talons from underneath him and sent him down with ease.
"That was disappointing," She stated, and Thistle scowled at her as he got back up. "Why can't you just teach me how to defend myself?" He complained, "teach me how to dodge, and fight back!"
Suddenly the rainwing was standing over him. Mandarin was smaller than Thistle, but when she opened her wings and arched her back, she seemed ginormous. A murderous glint was in her eyes, and Thistle almost felt like he had seen something flashing in her eyes as she stared at him.
"Rule number one:" she said sternly, but he could hear the irritation in her voice as the rainwing spoke. "NO talking unless I allow you."
A/n: Thats Mandarin for you; I apologize if anybody's OC names were mandarin because I literally had NO idea that my favourite story writer had an OC named mandarin in their SEQUEL which i had no idea existed, and I'm halfway through it.
