Peacemaker swore as the rainwing brought him out of the shadows. "Who are you?" Vulture snarled, stepping closer to Peacemaker.
"I-im-" Red Storm dropped him to the ground, cutting him off. Oof.
"I'm Peacemaker." His voice wavered a bit as they both stared at him. The Rainwing had a surprised look on her face, but Peacemaker's vision was dimming and couldn't make out who it was.
Vulture's expression changed into a smirk. " Well, this day turned out to be perfect," He grinned. Peacemaker gulped as two guards grabbed him by the shoulders and dragged him away.
"Wait." a voice confidently boomed. The guards froze as they turned back around. Red Storm had her hood back on. "Let him go. Or the deal's off."
Peacemaker could hardly believe himself.
Vulture's face was confronted with rage. "What?!" He roared, and the rainwing's head whipped towards him. "He belongs in Jade Mountain, and if the whole school goes looking for him, then you're dead."
Vulture looked outraged. "But-"
"He won't tell anyone."
She turned back to him menacingly. "Right?"
Peacemaker gulped again. "Right."
Vulture sighed, rubbing his talons against his temples. "Well then little... Peacemaker," he said in a tone that suggested there was no way out of this.
"You will tell nobody, and we will spare your goody four-talon's life."
Peacemaker nodded numbly. "Ok..." he said quietly.
"And of course, you will have to meet us here once every two weeks."
"WHAT?!" Peacemaker and Red Storm said a little bit too loud.
"I'm not bringing him along with me." She snarled. vulture didn't look open for negotiation.
"I come here every two weeks, he doesn't tell anybody. Got it?" She made herself look bigger, spreading her wings. Something caught Peacemaker's eye. A thin, but deep scar trailing along her side.
How did she get that? he wondered.
"Fine." vulture said warningly.
Red Storm grabbed Peacemaker by the shoulder and dragged him out of the compound.
"What is this place?" Peacemaker finally asked.
Red Storm shrugged. "Scorpion den." she said bluntly.
Oh. That's what Qibli was talking about.
"Why do you work for Vulture?!" he blurted out.
Shit shit shit shit, he thought as she whipped around to glare at him.
"You shouldn't of come here." she said, spreading her wings and lifting off. "Its too dangerous."
"Well, I'm sorry that my attacker was sneaking through JMA and i followed her to see what she was up to!" he snapped, and Red Storm's silk hood flew off her head as she tackled him down into the sand.
"Shut the fuck up!" she roared, "We are sparing your life, and this is how you say thank you?!"
"Excuse me?!" he shouted back, Kicking her off of him. "You literally just threatened to kill me if I told anyone!" He squinted at her through the dark, trying to make out her face.
"Thank you so much for sparing my life even though ill be DEAD if I tell anyone." He huffed, and the rainwing glared at him.
"Also your name's kind of long. I'm gonna shorten it for you."
"Don't you dare."
"Hmmm... how about... Killer?"
"You are so hilarious."
"Dragon threatener?"
"Now this is painful."
"Little red?"
"Fuck off."
"Fine, fine. Red."
"No."
"Too bad," Peacemaker said, grinning. Red growled irritably.
"Hey Red?" She shot him a scowl. "What?" Peacemaker glanced behind him. "There are three dragons following us." Red turned around, cursing.
"Moons-blasted-crocodile-spawn!" She said, huffing in annoyance. The three dragons, which seemed to be sandwings, stopped before them, hovering in the air. "You need to come with us," one said gruffly.
"Why?" Red said, eying them suspiciously. They glared at her.
"That's none of your business."
"Well too bad, because now it is."
She whacked the nearest sandwing with her tail, sending him to the ground with an oof. The nest two tried to grab ahold of her, but she ran her claws hard against one's chest, drawing blood. He screeched and fell towards the ground.
The final one finally grabbed ahold of her, putting her in a chokehold. Peacemaker jumped on him, biting down on the sensitive spot on his tail. The sandwing let go of her with a yelp of pain. that one fell to the ground too.
"Come on!" Red called as they fled towards Jade Mountain. Breathless, Peacemaker followed.
"You're welcome." he said proudly
"For what?"
"Saving you." She scowled.
"You didn't save me."
"Yea, I did,"
"You did NOT."
"Did too."
"DID NOT"
"Did toooo..." Peacemaker grinned, and Red smacked him with her tail. Peacemaker turned to her. "Since i know all of this stuff now, can i know your identity?"
"Why?"
"Because." she smirked.
"You are so blackmailing me right now."
"I know."
Sighing, Red took of her hooded cape, bundling it underneath her wing in a pouch. "Fine."
"But you will tell NOBODY about this. Especially not Thistle."
Thistle?
Then the silk hood dropped to the ground as her scales changed sunset oranges and yellows.
Sanding right in front of him... Was Mandarin.
