Lan Zhan, remember the cold cave. He remember binding their wrist together. He mainly did it to save Wei Ying from the attack of the zither, but the meaning behind it still remains the same. Now, how do I explain it to Caihong.
Caihong looked amused at him. She can see that he was thinking about something, whether it is good or bad, remains to be seen. Lan Zhan looks at her, and he can feel his ears starting to burn.

"Caihong, you have all of Wei Ying's memories, right?". He asked, and she nodded her head. What a strange question. She wonders what he is up to.

"How do I say this. You remember when I bind our wrist together in the cave and we bowed to my ancestors, and she gave us her blessing." Lan Zhan asked, and his ears were a furnace. Just as she was about to answer, they heard a shock voice.

"Wangji? What are you talking about. And why did you direct that question at Lady Caihong?". Xichen asked. Both Lan Zhan and Caihong stood up and bowed.
"Brother and uncle, I can explain everything." Lan Zhan said as he waved the two over to the low table.
He waved his arm and activated the silencing spell. Lan Qiren and Xichen were confused and shocked as they took their seats, and Caihong put on a kettle with water for tea.

Lan Zhan sat down, and Caihong took her seat next to him.

"Can one of you tell us what's going on here?". Lan Qiren asked a small frown on his face. The two looked at each other shyly before Lan Zhan turned his head back to face his brother and uncle.

"Well, Wangji, will you explain." Lan Qiren asked his nephew.

Lan Zhan cleared his throat lightly and told them everything that had happened in the cold cave and why he had binded their wrist together. When he was done, he looked at his brother and uncle. He was too afraid to look at Caihong. Afraid that he would see disappointment in her face.

"Well ,Wangji, that does change everything. But it still does not explain why you would ask Lady Hua that question. " Lan Xichen said to his brother.

Lan Zhan glances to Caihong, but she is watching the two men in front of her with a serious expression on her face.

"Wei Wuxian". She finally spoke, and their attention turned towards her.

"Wei Wuxian? What does this have to do with him?". Lan Qiren asked her.

"Nothing and everything Master Lan." She answered him. Confused, the two Lan looked at each other before Xichen spoke.

"I don't understand young lady Hua."
She kept quiet for a while, her eyes staring into nothingness before she turned her head towards Lan Zhan and spoke.

"I understand what you are trying to do, Lan Zhan, and I appreciate it. But I do not want you to do it out of obligation. I can take care of myself."

Lan Zhan shook his head and said.

"I am only trying to protect you, Caihong. I mean no disrespect by it or trying to imply that you need someone to take care of you. " He honestly said.

"Please, can the two of you tell us what is going on. Since when are the two of you so familiar with each other? " Lan Xichen asked, still confused with the conversation.
Caihong looked back at them and said.
"I trust Lan Zhan. I would like to believe that I can trust both of you also. I know what I am about to tell you may sound far fetch, but it is the truth. Believe me. So can I trust you that I am about to tell the two of you won't leave this room. " Her eyes glided between the two men when Lan Qiren spoke.
"If it is what it will take to tell us what is going on. Then you have my word that whatever you tell us won't leave this room. I promise. " Xichen said the same thing. With that, she nodded her head.
