Louis tackled me in a massive hug the moment I stepped through the kitchen door, shouting, "HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY, LOVE!!" Suddenly Harry was hugging me too, and then the rest of the boys joined in. Soon enough we were a mass of arms wrapped around whoever they could find and hearty laughs. I still just stood there, though, completely shocked.
I come in from kissing a boy who I'm NOT dating and find a surprise party being held for me? Well, that certainly doesn't happen every day.
"Oh my gosh, guys!" I exclaimed. "Whose idea was this?" They all pulled away except for Harry, who kept his arms firmly around the side of my waist and his cheek pressed against mine. Everyone in the room (including Liam, who had apparently returned from his date with Danielle) pointed to the boy still connected to me.
I accusingly yelled, "Harry Styles, I told you I didn't want to celebrate!" He shrugged innocently and moved around to my front side, shifting his hands to my hips.
"Aw, come on, babe," he pouted. "You didn't really expect me to let your eighteenth birthday pass, did you?" I couldn't help but smile at him. How cute was that? Harry smiled back at me and pulled me close, pecking me on the lips. I was immediately reminded of what had happened with Niall, even after he had pulled away from me.
Harry stated, "You taste like crisps." I laughed nervously, glancing at Niall. I hadn't eaten any crisps earlier, but he had.
I thought about kissing him, and how wrong it had been but just how right it had felt. I had to admit, the kiss had been perfect, maybe even better than that if it was possible. It was certainly much more magical than any kiss Harry and I had shared.
I immediately hated myself for thinking that and pulled my thoughts away from the topic, and to what was surrounding me now. There were streamers all over the walls and cabinets, balloons floated above our heads, and a massive cake sat on the table. I noticed that the writing on it was pretty small, and laughed after reading it - "Happy A Little Bit More Than Eighteenth Birthday, Alex!"
"C'mon, you need to open your presents," Louis shouted excitedly. He grabbed my hand, tugging me away from Harry and towards a small stack of boxes. He tossed me one wrapped in toilet paper and grinned, "Mine first, it's the best!"
I laughed, shaking my head, and sat down at the table. Lou quickly took the seat next me. The rest of the seats were immediately filled by four more eager boys.
Liam whispered loudly enough for all of us to hear, "Don't tell him, but I think my present'a way better than Lou's."
Louis argued, "You don't even know what I got her! Trust me, it's the best."
"Nuh-uh, wait 'till you see mine!" Zayn said. "I think it's pretty amazing!"
"Ever heard the term 'The Irish give the best gifts'?"
I glanced at Harry, who hadn't said anything yet. He was just smiling smugly at the rest of us. I assumed that he thought his gift was the best, but he didn't announce it.
"We all helped with Harry's gift," Liam said. "Well, part of it. Save his for last!" I nodded at him, grinning brightly.
"Can we please get on with the unwrapping?" Louis whined. I laughed a little and started carefully removing the toilet paper. Once I got it off, I just stared at the items before me, dumbfounded. Sitting there on the table was a jar of peanut butter and a plastic, feathery pigeon. How on earth were these two things related?
Everyone around me sat with dropped jaws and shocked looks. Louis, on the other hand, was smiling in satisfaction. I wondered why these things surprised them so much - no really, I had no idea what they were and why they were so shocking.
