Harry's POV
My throat tightened as Niall and Alex leaned toward each other. They wouldn't really kiss, would they? Maybe if they did, though, Alex would realize that she didn't really want to be with Niall. I could only hope that she would. I still couldn't look at them, and decided to instead send a menacing glare in Zayn's direction. He shrugged apologetically, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
After a moment I had to look over at the two, and found that their lips had just touched. Alex smiled against Niall's mouth and he laughed, pulling away with dots of peanut butter on his lips and cheeks. Alex began to laugh loudly when she noticed it.
"You taste like peanut butter!" Niall remarked, making Alex laugh even more. I felt a smile crack across my face. Maybe I didn't like the fact that they had kissed, but it was still really funny to see what had happened because of it. Alex fell backward onto the carpet, clutching her stomach and rolling around in a mass of giggles. Louis eyed her suspiciously, then began to laugh himself.
"Alex stop," Liam pleaded through his own laughter. "I can't breathe! Your laugh... it's just too much!" I looked around the room and saw that everyone was cracking up at this point. They weren't doing so because of what Niall had said, but because of the effect it had on Alex.
When she finally managed to calm down and pull herself back into a sitting position, we continued the game. I didn't really pay attention to what was going on. Whenever it came to my turn I answered "truth," because I was too troubled to do any dares. My mind was reeling and my thoughts were dangerously rude, especially when they came to Niall.
After a while Louis complained, "This is borrrring. Let's do something else!" I agreed, angry at what the game had caused.
"Actually, I should be heading home," Alex said. "It was great hanging out with you all! I do need a ride, though, so who wants to adventure? I, uh, need to go to my mom's boyfriend's house."
"I'll take you," I suggested immediately. Alex smiled gratefully and unfolded her legs from underneath her. I opened the front door for her and then followed her out, but stopped after I had closed the door. I had suddenly gotten an idea that wouldn't be ignored. Alex, noticing that I was still standing on the porch, walked over to me with a concerned look on her face.
"What is it?" she asked. I grabbed her hands in mine and took a deep breath. Could I really do it?
Apparently. "Alex, would you... want to go out with me?"

Alex's POV
Harry's question hit me like a kick to the gut. I wasn't sure why I was so surprised, because I had honestly known it was coming. I still couldn't believe he had said it, though. Why? Because it was too good to be true.
"Yeah!" I answered enthusiastically. "Thank God you asked, Harry, because I definitely didn't have the nerve to." Harry's worried look was replaced with a dimpled smile.
He grinned, "Then I'm glad I did too. Would you like to come to my flat tomorrow, then? I could make dinner for the two of us." I nodded, suddenly too shy to speak. Harry smiled and took my hand, leading me to his car. We were at my dad'a house before long, and I had to bid him goodbye. As I exited the car Harry caught my wrist, stopping me.
"Alex," he said, "are you ever going to tell the boys about your dad? If you're going to be spending a lot of time with them, it'd probably be a lot easier for you to let them know soon." I sighed, knowing that he was right.
I couldn't tell them, though. Even just letting Harry know that Simon is my dad was a major risk. He was already slipping a bit, asking me to tell the rest of them. For the time being, I promised him that I would think about it. I waved to Harry as he backed down the driveway, but my mind was elsewhere. How could I even tell the boys without sounding insane? Plus, they might be mad that I didn't tell then earlier.
