Those two weeks seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. Before I knew it, I was standing outside of the airport in Niall's arms. I held him tightly against myself, never wanting him or I to let go. As soon as I did let go, he would walk through those big glass doors. He would be off to France for their first concert of the tour tomorrow night.
Then it would keep going for him; off to the airport, on another flight, some other country, for two months. How did he cope with it? There was no way I could deal with traveling like that, which is why I'd rejected the boys when they invited me to come along for the first couple of venues.
Of course, they would be back to London. Only for a couple of days at a time, but they'd definitely be back. Those few days would be what kept me going. Ni would have a few days off, some of them spent with me and some spent with his family in Ireland. Actually, we were planning on taking a trip to Ireland together...
But that would have to wait. For now, I just stood outside of the airport and held Niall. There were men and women with cameras and camera phones surrounding us, but we just ignored them.
Right now, we were the only two there. Forget the meaningless flashing lights, pointless paparazzi surrounding us, the cars that didn't really need to be driving back and forth behind us, and we were the only two. Because nothing else mattered.
"I'm going to miss you so much, Al," Ni said into my hair. I nodded against his shoulder, hugging him tighter.
"I'll miss you too, Niall," I said. "I'll miss you a lot. But hey, you'll be back in a couple of weeks to perform here, right?" He pulled away from just enough so that I could see his smile as he nodded at me.
He agreed, "That's right. So you just wait here, and I'll be right back to finish-" He was cut off by the sound of two rowdy voices behind us. We turned to see Harry and Liam hopping out of a car, arguing over what color eyes were the best. Zayn and Perrie showed up a few minutes later, followed by Louis and Eleanor.
For a moment, the eight of us just stood there reluctantly watching people around us enter the airport. Eleanor's eyes pricked with tears, then my own vision was clouded. "Group hug!" Zayn called, and we all rushed forward and wrapped our arms around one another.
"Be sure to visit us, girls," Harry said, his voice think. "Come to concert, I know some people who might be able to get you good seats." We laughed sadly, promising to go to one of their performances.
Louis pulled out of our massive hug enough to point an accusing finger at me and command, "And you! Don't let me see any news stories about you getting into fights - I'll be too far away to beat the brat you were fighting up."
"I promise, Lou," I laughed. Suddenly everyone pulled apart, and after a few more hugs all around, Liam, Zayn, Harry, and Lou started toward the glass doors. Niall stayed with me, and I realized that he never finished his sentence when Liam and Harry showed up. "What were you saying you were going to finish when you came back?" I asked.
"This," was all he said.
Suddenly his lips crashed onto mine, and his hands cupped my face. I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around his back. And then all of a sudden he pulled away, when we usually wouldn't have even been halfway done with the kiss.
Ni squeezed my hand and smiled deviously at me before turning around and disappearing into the building. I stood there staring at the door, a smile playing at my lips. And then, with a final skip of my heart, I spun aroud and walked toward the bus stop.
He better be back to finish that.
The End
