Chapter 4
It has been more than six months since Sidharth had come here for his work. Now it's time for him to go back.
He had come here to avoid his marriage but now he needs to accept the reality.
He needs to forget her and move on in his life with his wife.
For the first time in his life, he felt guilty towards his wife who is suffering due to him.
Today he is going back to his country, to his house, to his wife.
Sidharth reached India in the night and it was raining heavily. So he thought about spending the night in his house which is located in the city and then went to his village early in the morning.
He reached in front of his house and entered the house using keys.
When he entered the house, he realised the power outage due to heavy rain.
He was trying to find his cell phone to turn on the flashlight when he felt someone running towards him.
He turned around and saw a shadow attacking him with a vase in hand.
He hurriedly held the man's hand and wrapped another hand around his body to stop him. Only then does he realise that it's a girl and not a man who is trying to hit him…
" Leave me, you thief", Sidharth heard the girl who was trying to free herself.
" What the??", Sidharth said, angrily.
It's like the pot calling the kettle black.
Sidharth grabs the vase from her hand and throws it away.
He held both of her hands behind her back, holding her against his body, forcing her to stand steady.
Suddenly the light came on, making the living room bright.
His gaze fell on the culprits trapped in his arms. He was shocked to see the face of the girl.
It was none other than the girl he was trying to find before his marriage, the girl who made him crazy for her, his only love.
Sana's gaze fell on Sidharth's face, making her eyes widen. Her husband or we can say her namesake husband was standing in front of her after seven months.
There is no doubt that her husband is very handsome but ruthless as well.
" Leave me", Sana said, struggling.
" What are you doing here?", Sidharth asked her.
" Are you saying I don't even have the right to stay in my husband's house?? For your kind information, Dada Ji had asked me to stay here until my semester finished. Now please leave me", Sana said, wanting to stay away from him.
Sidharth was shocked hearing the word wife. His grip loosened due to shock. Sana got the chance and ran away towards her room.
Sidharth was standing in the hall with his mouth wide open.
After a few minutes, he comes to his senses and starts smiling madly, realising her words.
The girl he loves is none other than his wife. He was happily thinking about Sana and his marriage.
" You are stupid, Sidharth. Why didn't you see her photo or see her face during marriage? If you had seen, then you wouldn't have wasted seven months in misery", Sidharth mumbled, cursing himself.
Now he was thinking how to approach Sana. For the first time in his life, he was feeling nervous to talk with someone.
Sidharth went to his room but found the room empty. He realised Sana was not living in his room but in the guest room.
Sidharth went towards her room and knocked on the door.
Sana who was still in shock, gets startled hearing the knock.
She calmed herself down and went to open the door.
" Yes!! Do you need anything?", Sana asked him without any expression.
" You!!", Sidharth blurted out, without thinking anything.
" Excuse me!!", Sana said, thinking she heard something wrong.
" Why are you staying in this room??", Sidharth asked her, clearing his throat.
" Means??", Sana asked, feeling confused.
" This is a guest room. As my Wife, you should be staying in my room. I have come here to take you to my room", Sidharth told her.
" You finally remembered your wife", Sana said with sarcasm.
" Of course!! How can I even forget you, sweetheart?", Sidharth said, smirking.
" You!! I don't want to talk with you ", Sana said and tried to shut the door.
But he stopped her and pulled her in his arms.
" I am sorry, Jaan!! Please forgive your poor husband", Sidharth said, showing his pitiful face.
Sana's heart skipped a beat hearing his apology but she decided not to melt down so easily.
" I can't", Sana said, with tearful eyes.
" Please don't cry", Sidharth said, caressing her cheeks.
He can bear anything but can't see tears in her eyes.
Whenever he thinks about how much she had cried in the last seven months due to him, he hates himself for hurting her.
" You don't want to forgive me…No problem!! I will gain your forgiveness through my actions", Sidharth said with determination.
Sana looked into his eyes and saw the truth and sincerity.
Saying this, Sidharth went to his room silently.
Thinking he must be hungry, Sana went to the kitchen to make something for him.
After making pasta, she went to his room and knocked on the door.
He opened the door shirtless. His hair was wet from the shower.
Seeing his bare torso, she felt her mouth getting dry.
" umm…dinner", Sana said, feeling her face heating up.
" You can come inside", Sidharth said, moving away from the door, giving her space to move inside.
Sana entered the room and placed the plate at the side table, before going outside.
" Don't forget to dry your hair", Sana reminds him, going towards her room.
Sidharth's lips curved into a smile, hearing her.
" She still cares for me. Don't worry, I will soon get your forgiveness. After that, I will never let you go away from me", Sidharth mumbled, before closing his door.
He went towards the bed and started eating her handmade pasta.
He moaned, eating the first bite of pasta. He is eating the best pasta in the world. From now onwards, his favourite dish is his wife's handmade pasta.
Chapter 5 is already published on the Pratilipi.
