"Uh no!" Wilbur exclaimed, even though it was a blatant lie.
"Did Karl, Sapnap and Quackity break up?" Tommy asked. Techno must have heard Tommy's yelling because he came out of his room.
"No, they didn't break up." Wilbur said and Techno laughed from his doorway.
"Did you not tell him?" Techno asked and Wilbur shook his head.
"Not tell me what?" Tommy asked.
"Quackity and I have gone out on a couple of dates." Wilbur admitted and Tommy gave him a confused look.
"But I thought you said that they didn't break up?" Tommy questioned as Wilbur put the shopping bag on the stairs to bring up later.
"I don't think anyone ever explained how polyamory works to Tommy." Techno pointed out.
"No, you guys did. Someone can date more than one person at once and they can be in a relationship together." Tommy said.
"There can be a bit more to it than that." Techno told him as Wilbur walked towards the kitchen, the other two following.
"I'm confused." Tommy admitted.
"So Quackity is still in a relationship with Sapnap and Karl, and he's also going on dates with me. Our relationship is separate from his relationship with them." Wilbur explained.
"But I thought to be poly you all had to be dating?" Tommy said.
"No, poly just means you're dating more than one person at once." Techno corrected.
"And Sapnap and Karl are fine with you dating Quackity?" Tommy asked and Wilbur nodded.
"Poly relationships have to be based on communication and consent. When Quackity first asked me out he told me that he had already talked to them about it, on top of that today we went out shopping and they came along. They are completely aware and okay with me going out with Quackity." Wilbur explained.
"Okay, that makes sense." Tommy nodded.
"So what did you get while shopping?" Techno asked and Wilbur felt his face go warm.
It was one thing to tell your family you want to use different pronouns, but to tell them about the clothes you got to match those pronouns was a whole other thing.
"They helped me pick out a dress, and some heels." Wilbur said in a tone that was near a mumble.
"Ooooo can we see?" Tommy asked.
"Uh sure." Wilbur said as he went back to the staircase to grab the bag, bringing it back to the kitchen with him. He pulled out the box that had the heels first, taking off the lid and pulling out the shoes.
"Those are nice." Techno complimented.
"Thanks. Karl helped me find a pair that matched the dress." Wilbur said as he pulled out the dress, holding it up so both of them could see.
"That's a really cute dress." Tommy smiled.
"Thank you, they offered to help me find more but I just got so nervous and it was bit overwhelming because I've never been dress shopping before." Wilbur explained.
"You never have been dress shopping before have you?" Techno asked and Wilbur nodded.
"Have you?" Tommy asked Techno and to both of their surprise, Techno nodded.
