Wilbur spent a while crying, and after he had calmed down a bit he still felt sad. He asked Phil if he would be okay with Quackity spending the night, and Phil said of course.
So Quackity came over that night, and they hung out in Wilbur's room for a while. Wilbur was still upset at the fact her brothers were still fighting about religion, and upset about the fact they were all just so tired. Tired of bad things happening to them, tired of things never seeming to get better, tired of life just crushing them in anyway possible.
Quackity did his best to help calm Wilbur down, then he helped distract Wilbur for a while. They watched a movie in Wilbur's bed, until Wilbur promptly fell asleep while laying her head in Quackity's lap as Quackity played with her hair.
He stayed there, continuing to run his fingers through her hair. He truly felt happy being there. He was even happier when he noticed Wilbur was still wearing the ring he gave her (she had mentioned her and Tommy's worry of it getting lost or breaking)
After a while Quackity decided to get some water, so he carefully moved Wilbur's head, doing his best not to wake him and slipped out of the room. When he made it to the kitchen he saw Tommy in there, just staring at the tea kettle on the stove. It wasn't on, but he was still just staring at it.
"Isn't there a saying about a watched kettle never boils?" Quackity tried to joke, and at first it seemed like Tommy didn't hear him. He kept staring at the kettle while blinking slowly, a glossy look over his eyes. He then turned his head to look at Quackity.
"It's a watched pot never boils, I think you're mixing it with pot calling the kettle black." Tommy said, and to Quackity he sounded off. Quackity, after hearing the story of what happened earlier from Wilbur, decided not to question it too much at
"Probably, I've never been great at English sayings." Quackity said as he walked over to the cabinet to grab a cup. "Are you making tea?"
"Yeah. Want some?" Tommy asked instinctively. Even after all these months Tommy still had the instinct to share what he had with others, even if he didn't have much himself.
"No thank you, but it might help if you turn on the stove." Quackity said and he watched as again Tommy blinked slowly before realizing what he said.
"Oh. Yeah." Tommy said shortly as he turned on the stove. Quackity felt more worried about him.
"You alright Tommy?" Quackity asked, but Tommy just shrugged. "I'm a good listener if you want to talk."
"I'm just thinking." Tommy shrugged.
"What about?" Quackity questioned, hoping he wasn't pushing Tommy and making him uncomfortable.
"I've been questioning religion lately, and all that's really come of it is fighting and self hatred. I have to believe in God but all it does it make things worse." Tommy explained lightly.
"Why do you have to believe in God?" Quackity asked.
"Because otherwise I don't know what happens when I die. I don't know what's next." Tommy said as he began to stare at the kettle again.
"Tommy, I'm gonna tell you something that I learned a long time ago. You don't have to figure out what's next. You don't have to believe in God just to have an idea of what's next. I think as long as you're a good person, then whatever will happen will happen." Quackity told him.
"I just want to know if Liam and my mom, and Schlatt and Sam are okay. I don't want to think that I'll never see them again." Tommy said softly, and Quackity saw slight tears in his eyes.
