'No no no...'
'Why?'
'Why did HE have to be Cedric Diggory?'
Krystal wanted to vomit, she wanted to scream and cry until her eyes hurt.
From the moment she had met him on the train she had formed a crush, and as hard as it may be to understand, after talking to him tonight Krystal had actually grown to like him even more.
But knowing that he is Cedric Diggory changes everything.
'I can't like him, it's as simple as that.'
Cedric is suppose to be with Cho Chang. He takes HER to the ball, SHE is the one that cries when she sees his dead body, she's the one that mourns him for the rest of her stay at Hogwarts.
Then Krystal halted, she stopped breathing as a very important piece of the book suddenly drifted to the front of her mind.
He would die, Cedric Diggory would die.
Now tears really did silently fall down her cheeks.
"Are you alright?" A small voice asked.
Krystal sniffed and attempted to dry her face.
It was a girl with vivid red hair, Ginny Weasley no doubt.
She gave her a weak smile, "just homesick I guess." Krystal lied.
She sat on a cozy looking sofa and patted the seat next to her, Krystal took it. "It happens to the best of us, I still get homesick too occasionally." She admitted with a small smile. "My moms cooking, my dads crazy objects from work, all of my brothers loudly arguing about this or that. But then I surround myself with friends and it takes the pain away." She revealed with a genuine smile. "I'm Ginny by the way, Ginny Weasley."
Krystal hugged her, "thank you, I needed that."
At first Ginny was shocked by the hug then gave in and hugged Krystal back. "It'll get easier I promise."
Krystal nodded. "We should probably get to bed."
. . . . .
As the first couple weeks went by Krystal had gotten accustomed to the idea that this is real and it is still amazing.
Katie Bell, Angelina Johnson, and Alicia Spinnet are her dorm-mates. And because of that Krystal became really good friends with Fred, George, and Lee.
Nearly a month had passed, Autumn was starting to show signs of its arrival. And try as she might Krystal couldn't shake Cedric both emotionally and realistically.
He still walked with her to her classes, studied with her at the library and talked to Krystal every chance he got.
He is a real gentleman and a true romantic and Krystal had learned so much about him.
Like the fact that he is an only child, this was something that had caused him to start school a year later than he should have, so Cedric is a 17 year old 6th year.
In the time She had been here She had also learned a lot, Krystal's not exactly 5th year material yet but even Professor McGonagall had commented on a few occasions about how proud she is of her constant growth.
One Saturday morning Krystal found herself sitting outside and enjoying the nice weather.
The air was getting colder and the leaves were changing colors.
"All alone, mind if I join you?" Cedric asked.
Krystal smiled at him, she couldn't lie to herself, she had fallen for this perfect boy.
He took a seat next to her. "Can I ask you a question." He asked after a couple of minutes of silence.
"Of course." She replied.
"You have to promise to be honest." He pointed out.
She smiled and made an invisible "x" over her heart and he smiled his radiant smile.
"Alright." He said then sighed, "why won't you go out with me? Is there another guy or do you just not like me like that?" He asked.
She looked up at him and saw the sadness written plainly on his face. His beautiful grey eyes were worried of her pending answer.
She died a little inside, She had never seen a boy look so hurt before.
"No, no Cedric your amazing and beyond handsome, and of course there isn't any other guy I would ever pick before you." She admitted.
"Then what Krystal, please tell me because I'm coming up blank."
Krystal sighed and decided she should just tell him the truth. "I know someone else likes you, and I know she's liked you longer than I've known you. She's a sweet girl and I really think she at least deserves a shot." She said, but even as she said it she knew she hadn't meant it...she would hate to see him with someone else, even if she knew that's who he was supposed to be with.
He looked out into the black lake, unmoving he stayed quiet for a while. "Who is she?" He asked finally, still looking out at the lake.
"Cho Chang of Ravenclaw."
He nodded his head calmly, still not looking at her.
"Get to know her, become her friend, I think she could be good for you." Krystal stated as she began feeling a little sad and jealous.
He snapped his head in her direction. "You're good for me, you're the girl I want." He said almost pleadingly.
Krystal looked away and he touched her cheek, he gently moved her head so that she was facing him once more.
"Is this what you really want. Do you really want to see me with another girl?" He asked.
'Of course not, why would i want to see you with anyone else. You're the first guy whos ever truly approached me, the first guy to openly admit he likes me.' She thought, but she couldn't say that so she just silently shook her head No.
And Cedric smiled before taking his chances and leaning in for a kiss.
There on the banks of the black lake surrounded by the breeze of the upcoming autumn Krystal and Cedric shared their first kiss.
Krystal she had just altered the book drastically but at the moment she just didn't care.
His soft lips pulled away and then he hugged her to his body.
The two sat in each other's arms, leaves falling around them as they stared off into the distance, how can something this good be so bad?
