When we got back home I unpacked and put all of my dirty clothes into the washer, there was no way I was going to leave the house for two months and come back and find them still in my hamper.

While my clothes was washing I hopped on my Vespa and scooted over to Roxy's house.

Roxy lives five blocks from my house, her place is huge. I walked up to the red brick split level home and rang the door bell, I felt odd just walking in knowing Roxy isn't home, plus I didn't see her parents cars so I knew only Shane would be in.

Her older brother answered the door.

"Hey shorty what brings you by?" He asked with a handsome smile.

Shane is Roxy's older brother, he's seventeen and goes to an all boys school.

He has thick blonde hair with cute curls and rich reddish brown eyes. His tan skin was always flawless as was his perfect smile. Truth be told I have an obvious crush on him as does just about every single girl in our town.

"Hey Shane, I came by to get your sisters cell phone...apparently Rox left it and I offered to bring it to her since I'm on my way to your Aunts place soon." I filled him in.

He let me into the house and we searched for her phone.

"You check her bedroom and I'll check the sofa." He instructed then chuckled. "Good luck."

"Ugh don't tell me it's trashed in there." I groaned as I began making my way up the stairs.

"You'll see." He smiled.

I reached her room and sighed as I opened the door and looked around at the dirty room. Roxy was like the Tasmanian Devil when she was looking for an outfit so I could only imagine what it must have been like while she was packing.

Judging by the order of her bedroom her closet had exploded.

I silently hoped that Shane found the phone in the sofa because it would take me a while to sort through Roxy's room.

Just then Shane walked in holding the phone.

"Thank goodness you found it." I said gladly.

"Yep, found the cell, an old key and some change." He said proudly. "Hey I was just about to go grab dinner, you wanna go?"

My heart stopped, did Shane just ask me out?

"Uh sure." I replied.

He nodded then we made our way downstairs together.

"Oh leave your helmet, we can go in my car." He spoke up as he grabbed his keys and his wallet.

"Yeah?" I asked.

He nodded and soon we were in the garage getting into his lovely car.

I always admired Shane's car, it used to be his grandpas but it was left to him when he passed away.

The weather was nice so Shane let the top down to his cherry red 77 Chevy Camero.

I picked my hair up into a ponytail and we drove off.

The wind blew my ponytail back and the breeze caressed my face.

I loved riding in this car, I closed my eyes and smiled.

"Having fun?" Shane asked over the wind.

I opened my eyes "it feels like I'm flying." I amitted.

He chuckled, "yeah it kind of does."

We ended up going to diner that was popular with teens. The food is good and cheap and you get a lot, ideal for any teen wether their with a group of friends or on a date.

We found an empty booth and took a seat. I had twenty bucks on me so I knew I could pay for myself so I went ahead and ordered my usual chicken strips, chili cheese fries and large chocolate shake.

He ordered a cheeseburger combo that came with fries and a soda.

"Are you excited about going to California?" He asked.

"Yes, how come you didn't go?" I asked.

He shrugged "I had to stay for football, practices start in a couple of days plus I got a new job." He admitted.

"Oh wow congratulations."

"Thanks." He said. "It's nothing much, I'm just gonna be at the mechanic shop doing oil changes and tire rotations." He said with another shrug of his shoulders.

Our food came and we began to eat.

"Hey a jobs a job...you think any sane person willingly volunteers to watch all the kids I do for babysitting, but hey...it pays and to be honest most of them aren't too bad."

He smiled and nodded in agreement.

"To be honest like my job, I was nervous at first but over time I got use to it, the kids and I sorta u sweat and each other now too." I admitted, I noticed he had finished his food and I still had a ton. "Please have some," I said offering him some of the food. "I ordered this out of habit and your sister usually helps me finish it." I said a little embarrassed.

He laughed and helped hisself to some chili cheese fries.

We ate and continued to talk, we talked about the upcoming school year, movies, music, and other random things. He ordered a shake and a brownie afterward it was time to go home.

He tried to pay and Much to his protest we ended up splitting the bill.

We drove back to his house, I got Roxy's Cellphone and then I got onto my scooter and left for my own house.

This was the first time I have ever hung out with a guy by myself, and I liked it.

Usually I'm with Roxy, and usually guys give her all the attention, it felt good to be the center of a guys attention for once, if even just for an hour and a half, but who's counting right?
