Time passed and the news that Mad-Eye Moody was actually a criminal using polyjuice potion was never announced. Classes continued with Madame Pince (the librarian) filling in as the defense against the dark arts teacher for the remainder of the year, and Cedric's rigorous training for the upcoming event never faltered.
No one knew except those that were in the office that night.
As Krystal's days became "normal" she didn't miss the fact that Dumbledore paid more attention to her, but part of their agreement for her telling him was he couldn't question anything, and he stayed true to his word.
Everyone in the castle talked about the upcoming task, the champions hadn't been given a clue this time so everyone was unsure of what was to come.
But one day after dinner Krystal found herself walking up the corridors, without a word to anyone she had decided to see Professor Trelawney, maybe she could help.
As she walked into her room Krystal was suddenly reminded how everyone in school thought she was off her rocker, in truth Professor Trelawney has an amazing talent that not even she knows nothing about.
"Professor?"
Krystal looked around the heavily scented classroom unsure and suddenly the professor popped her head into the room from around the corner.
"Hello." Professor Trelawney said almost on edge.
"Professor, my name is Krystal Montgomery and I have come here because I need some answers." Krystal admitted.
"Yes, the new student from America." She said with a kind smile before she attempted to busy herself around her desk. "I'm sorry, I'm no good for answers on the tournament...I'll go ahead and tell you like I've told the other students, I will not use my abilities to see who wins this Tri-Wizarding Tournament." She said as if she was having a little trouble speaking up for herself. "It goes against my moral code as a seer."
Krystal nodded, she had heard of the illegal gambling ring The Weasley twins had created for this last task, taking bets on who would win overall. But she didn't know students were bold enough to openly ask for tips from a Hogwarts Professor.
"That's fine...no, professor to be honest with you it seems I need your help because I've done something recently and now I'm afraid of what's going to happen because of it." Krystal admitted.
Professor Trelawney turned and for the first time actually looked at Krystal. She observed the girl before she gave her a weak smile and then asked her to sit down at one of the many tables with a crystal ball as a centerpiece. She could feel her unsure energy and knew she was genuinely concerned about something.
"Concentrate dear, it will only work if you concentrate." The professor instructed with certainty now.
Krystal nodded and she began to try and clear her mind if any thoughts as she looked in to the large crystal ball.
Professor Trelawney closed her eyes and rocked a little, she moved her hands in a slow circular motion above the crystal ball.
But try as she might she couldn't fully clear her head, instead Krystal thought about every single thing she had ever read in the books, Voldemort's rise back to power, the battle at Hogwarts, Teddy Tonks, Cedric's Death, Sirius' death, the Weasley's, Ron and Hermoine, Harry's and Ginny's Children, even Malfoy's turn from darkness to civil human being.
There's a reason things happen, it's so in the end everything is fine, And Krystal had screwed it up.
"I see you...and a man...Cedric Diggory...you are looking around an office...it's newly decorated...you two are being cordial but there is a lot of feelings between the two of you...he wants to kiss you but refrains." Professor Trelawney announced and then she opened her eyes.
She was a little relieved to hear that Cedric would live...albeit a bit confused, why would she and Cedric have so many feelings for one another yet act cordially...and who's newly decorate office were they in?
"You see my dear, no worries." Professor Trelawney said as she patted Krystal's hand.
But that small comforting act ignited something else. She made a loud gasping sound and her voice sounded like there was no air in her lungs.
Krystal watched on in horror as Professor Trelawney had one of her real predictions.
"A chain of events is about to happen, some good some bad... a familiar face will betray you, and the dark Lord WILL still rise and the end will be the same. Death and destruction is upon us, hold your loved ones clo-ooo-se..." She trailed off, nearly choking and gagging as she tried to get air then she came back around. "You see my dear, no worries." She said with a slight smile. "Oh Deja-Vu." She chuckled and then got up from the table as if nothing had just happened.
"Th-thank you." Krystal stuttered out and left in a hurry.
She went straight up to her bed, she drew the thick canopy closed and she cried until her eyes hurt. What else could she do? Krystal had already tried to stop Voldemort from coming back but it seems like nothing she did or didn't do would stop the dark Lord from coming back, and she couldn't help but wonder who would have to die because of it?
She hadn't done anything, Voldemort would still come back and people would still die, good people, people she now knows personally and loves.
Then Krystal sat up and wiped away her falling tears.
No.
Krystal isn't a damsel in distress, Krystal is a Gryffindor and she needed to shake out the uneasiness the prediction had caused her. She knew she had to keep fighting in the only way she knew how.
She had all the knowledge of the books and knew she would do everything to help defeat Voldemort and she knew exactly how she would do that.
Voldemort would come back, and now she knew she couldn't stop that from happening. But Krystal can stop him from gaining knowledge, from getting any stronger.
She would destroy the premonition about Harry and Neville, and Krystal would help get rid of horocruxes but of course she'd need help.
With a deep breath she gained her courage and drive once again as she got out of the bed, she had to see Dumbledore once more.
