Everyone retreated inside and many were surprised to find Mr Barty Crouch in the great hall, they took their seats and the rules were given once more.
Filch carried in a large wooden chest encrusted with jewels.
"As you know, three champions compete in the tournament, " Dumbledore said. "One from each school. They will be marked on how well they perform each of the tournament tasks and the champion with the highest total after task three will win the Triwizard Cup."
A slew of murmurs rang and then stopped.
"The champions will be chosen by an impartial selector: The Goblet of Fire." Dumbledore announced as he withdrew his wand and tapped the wooden box three times.
It creaked open and Dumbledore removed a large, wooden cup.
It was extremely underwhelming with the exception of the radiant blue flames nearly spilling out of the old cup.
"Anybody wishing to submit themselves as champion must write their name and school clearly on a piece of parchment and drop it into the goblet." He instructed. "Aspiring champions have twenty-four hours in which to put their names forward. Tomorrow night, Halloween, the goblet will return the names of the three it has judged most worthy to represent their schools. The goblet will be placed in the entrance hall tonight, where it will be freely accessible to all those wishing to compete." He stated.
Krystal looked over at the Hufflepuff table and she saw Cedric grinning up at the cup, she knew he wanted to enter.
Her heart raced, Krystal was stuck.
She couldn't possibly just sit by and watch as the boy She had fallen in love with prepares to die, but on the other hand she can't just change the story.
Saving Cedric may just lead to something bigger in the story, like Voldemort winning in the end.
Krystal closed her eyes as Dumbledore told everyone about the age line, the obvious uproar commenced but after everyone calmed down Dumbledore dismissed everyone.
The Great Hall was crammed with student trying to leave, Krystal on the other hand was trying to get to Cedric.
But as she got close to him, a group of girls blocked her path and he disappeared in the crowd.
She followed her peers and left the great hall, she mindlessly got into her pajamas then went back down to the common room. She paced back and forward as she tried to think of a way to keep Cedric from putting his name into the Goblet.
The way Krystal see it is, Someone will take Cedric's place and as long as the same things happen as they do in the books then the Wizarding world should be fine.
'It sounds harsh and I know I'm being selfish but I just couldn't lose him.' Krystal thought wildly.
Time passed in the common room as Krystal tried to come up with an idea. The large clock indicated that it was just after 10 and Krystal knew Cedric would be going on his Prefect patrols.
Then suddenly it hit her, it was so obvious.
Krystal grabbed a piece of parchment and a random quill and wrote a note.
{Cedric, I know you probably hate me but I REALLY need to talk with you. -Krystal}
When she finished Krystal folded the note and looked around the common room. When she saw the coast was clear she was comfortable doing the next step.
"Dobby, Dobby the House Elf please." Krystal said out loud desperately .
Nothing happened so she tried again.
