STORMI

The cashier at the checkout line was taking forever. I don't have that much stuff.

How long does it take to ring up some bread, avocados, bananas and salad?

I started picking at my nail beds to try to calm myself down.

"So, you go to school at Rosedale University?" He smiled at me as he rang up the items at a sloth pace. I was tapping my foot and nervously looking at the clock on the wall behind him praying that he hurries.

"Yeah" I answered shortly. I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to leave before Landon comes back in and shoots us both.

"Wait, are you Mayor Daye's daughter?"

"Yeah, that's me" I gave a small smile wishing this boy would hurry up.

"I knew you looked familiar, you're much prettier in person" He smiled, causing me to blush.

"Thanks"

"It's $22.76" He finally totaled it out.

"So, there's a party this weekend. A bunch of us are going to the lake since it's finally warming up outside. You should come" He handed me my receipt.

"Okay, I'll have to see. Have a good night" I said before turning to leave the store.

This took at least 8 minutes and Landon is probably fuming.

When I walked out of the store and around the front of the car I noticed that Landon was crouched over like he might have been reaching for something in the floorboard.

Let's hope it's not the gun he's going to use to kill me.

I opened the back door to sit the groceries in the seat and I noticed Landon shove something in his pocket and pinch his nose.

"Took you long enough" He sniffed.

"It gave you enough time to do coke" I shot back, closing the door. I thought Myles said they only do coke when they party.

I tend to get irritable after having anxiety. I probably shouldn't have said that.

I climbed into the passenger seat and buckled myself up before looking at Landon and deciding to apologize.

"Sorry, I shouldn't make comments about that" I mumbled, starting to play with my fingers.

"What did I tell you about the word sorry?" Landon grabbed my hands to stop the fidgeting.

I looked down at his hands touching mine and I felt a pit growing in my stomach before snatching my hand away and letting out a scoff. I feel like I'm going to vomit.

Landon sighed and started the car pulling out of the parking lot. I assume he decided he didn't want to talk about what happened back there so I just let it go.

I don't get how he can just flip so quickly. He gets irrationally angry over the smallest things.

We sat in silence for a while before I heard upbeat music blasting through the speakers causing me to jump.

Saturday mornin', jumped out of bed
And put on my best suit
Got in my car and raced like a jet
All the way to you
Knocked on your door with heart in my hand
To ask you a question
'Cause I know that you're an old fashioned man
Yeah (yeah)

Landon sang loudly while he continued to glance at me.

He can not be serious right now.

I scoffed and turned my head to look back out the window. It's dark outside so I can't see anything but I'm so irritated with him right now I don't want to see his face. He never wants to play music and now this is happening. Be for real.
