Jooyeon ran downstairs (almost tripping and falling them down but luckily he didn't), just to notice that his father already opened the door and seemed to talk with someone. Coming closer, Jooyeon could recognise three silhouettes. An older man and an older woman (Jooyeon assumed that they were married, no reason) along with a girl, probably around his age. Oh. Oh no.

Jooyeon wanted to storm up to his room again, but his father noticed him, making it impossible to leave now. "Jooyeon, I'm glad you're here." his father said and let in the three guests. The girl kept staring at Jooyeon, she looked frightened. And Jooyeon was, too. Seemingly, she did not want to be there either.

"Let me introduce you to the Son Family. They are our great business partners, designing our clothes for our models." Jooyeon's lips barely contracted to a smile as he greeted the family, they greeted him back.

"We thought that you and our daughter Jiyun would be a perfect match." Mr Son explained. "Why don't you two go upstairs and get to know each other more?" Oh. Jiyun and he just stared at the father with a poker face, before Jooyeon sighed and asked the girl to follow him.

Upstairs, she sat down on his beanbag and mustered Jooyeon. "You're pretty.." she said, clearly shy about it. Jooyeon wished he would be able to reject everything. Sure, Jiyun was a pretty girl, but that's it.

"You're too..." He gave the girl false hopes and he knew that. But he wasn't able to just tell her everything. Because it really seemed like Jiyun was interested in him.

The silence was awkward between them, no one really knew what they should talk about. So they started talking about interests. And surprisingly they shared some.

"I play the drums, you know?" she said with a small smile. "I play in a band, but we're not very successful, to be honest. My parents always tell me to quit and focus on my modelling career but it's really not the thing that brings me joy."

Jiyun was cool, Jooyeon concluded. And she was like Jooyeon - Both being forced into the model industry because their parents play a huge role in it.

Jooyeon actually had a great time with Jiyun. But it was so obvious that she actually developed a crush on him, how is he supposed to tell her that her feelings aren't reciprocated?
