"Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed faculty, proud parents, and fellow graduates, Today is a day of celebration, a day that marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and growth. As the valedictorian, I stand before you with a mix of emotions, filled with gratitude and nostalgia for the incredible journey we have all shared together. When I look back on our time in school, I realize that it wasn't just the academic achievements that made it special; it was the unforgettable memories we createdn along the way. From the school car washes where we turned suds into smiles, to the thrilling teacher versus student basketball games, we laughed, competed, and bonded as a unified class. One memory that will forever be etched in our minds is the day we decided to wrap Principal Grave's car in a seemingly endless cascade of seran wrap. It was a mischievous act driven by the spirit of fun, reminding us that even in the midst of our studies, we found ways to create joyous mischief and unforgettable moments." I hear a bunch of hoots and hollers which makes me look up into the sea of red caps and gowns. "But beyond the pranks and games, I hope that each and every one of us took the opportunity to pursue our passions and embrace adventure during our time in school. Whether it was joining a sports team, participating in extracurricular activities, or engaging in community service, these experiences helped shape who we are today. As we move forward into the next chapter of our lives, let us not forget the sense of adventure that guided us through these formative years. Let us carry that spirit with us as we embark on new journeys, pursue our dreams, and face the challenges that lie ahead. Before I conclude, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our incredible teachers, administrators, and support staff who have guided us with wisdom, patience, and unwavering dedication. You have not only imparted knowledge but have also nurtured the seeds of curiosity and ambition within us, preparing us for the road ahead. To my fellow graduates, congratulations on reaching this momentous milestone. As we part ways and pursue different paths, let us forever cherish the memories we made together, the friendships we forged, and the lessons we learned. May our adventures be great, our dreams fulfilled, and our futures bright. Thank you and congratulations, Class of 2023!" I end my speech hearing the whole class erupt in chaos and screams for me. I start hearing them chant my name and I feel my cheeks redden from the extra attention. I'm glad they liked the speech and by the way Principal Grave struggles to calm them down I can tell the rest of this is going to be fun.
It's finally time to line up and get out diplomas. They set up our seats to go in alphabetical order so we can all just go one by one. But that means Leah is all the way in the front while I'm staggered in the middle. When her name and college of choice gets called I scream my loudest and cheer her on as she walks across the stage. She spots me and gives me a me our famous peace sign as she poses with the principal for a photo. I wait in the really long line making small talk with a couple people around me. When I'm next in line I feel my nerves start to grow again. I have no idea why since I was just up here but i guess it's inevitable.
"Katie Johnson, with a plethora of scholarship to 18 different colleges she hasn't yet chosen where she will be going." My vice principal announces into the microphone. I forgot they announce where you're going or what you'll be doing when you graduate. At least they made me seem smart. I walk on stage hearing the cheers and chants from the school body. I never realized how many people knew me because when I look out into the crowd literally everyone is cheering, on their feet for me. I walk up to my principal, shaking his hand, and turn posing with my diploma for a picture. I glance in the crowd of parents, for my parents, and am shocked when I see a blonde standing next to my dad with two children around her hip. How is she holding both? Wait...she actually came!? I feel the huge smile spread across my face seeing her here and when we make eye contact I make sure my eyes never leave hers. As I'm walking down the stage to the stairs I hear a "YOUR SO HOT" being shouted and can tell by the voice it's Katie. The laughs ensue but Scarlett doesn't laugh. She almost looks jealous. It's kinda hot.
