Katie POV
Waking up this morning feels strange but comforting. Last night was a lot of fun spending time with both Scarlett and Lizzie and Robbie. I adore Liz and Scarlett's friendship, and adding Robbie to the mix showed me how much of a goofball he is.After dinner, we came back to the house and just talked. It was the first time I actually said no to a glass of wine and although Lizzie was shocked, I could see the faint smile on her face at my denial. I thought I'd need it, since I was watching Scarlett and Lizzie type up an email to my dad, but turns out Scarlett's subtle touches on my thigh and her extreme eye contact was more than enough.
As I roll over in bed, I'm greeted with Scarlett sitting up slightly but still under the blankets looking at her phone. Her hair is a little messy and her fresh face is absolutely stunning but I can't help but notice her eyebrows are furrowed as she reads her phone. At first I thought it was because of the screens brightness but when she sighs heavily I realize it must not be the best news.
"You okay?" I say as my morning voice comes out a bit scratchy.
"Huh? Oh yeah! I'm fine...your dad answered." She seems to snap out of her funk when she hears my voice and makes eye contact.
"What'd he say?" I ask.
He probably can't make it anytime soon. Knowing him, he's knee deep in contracts and can't swing it.
"He said he's in California now and can meet anytime I want." She states and I immediately start to panic. Am I ready for this? will he believe me?
My mind racing stops when Scarlett tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear and leans in to kiss my lips very softly, almost like I'm made of glass and she's afraid I'll break.
"You can do this. Don't let your thoughts scare you. You are going to meet him and tell him everything. If he doesn't believe you it's his loss but just know I will be here every step of the way." She says
"Will you come with me if he can meet today?" I ask.
"Of course. But you have work soon, so let me answer him and worry about that and you can go get ready." She says.
I roll over on top of her and straddle her waist. She inhales deeply at my action and I smirk knowing this affects her. I'm not ready to get up just yet.
"This isn't getting up." She laughs."I'm stuck and can't get up without a kiss." I smile and wiggle my hips onto hers more making her squeeze her eyes shut. She reaches up and halts my shoulders so I stop wiggling and finally exhales a breath.
"What? You don't want a kiss?" I tease questiongly and she shyly nods her head yes.
I place my hands on either side of her head and lean down so I'm inches away from her face. I tap her nose with mine and ghost her lips while I shift my head to another angle. Just as I'm about to lean in fully, there's a knock at the door that makes us both jump.
"Are y'all awake!? Robbie is making pancakes!" Lizzie squeals through the door. I smile at Scarlett and roll my eyes. I lean down and just peck her lips a couple times and reluctantly get off of her and head to the door.
Opening it I spot Lizzie's sly smirk plastered all over her face. "Took you some time to open the door Katie"
"That's what happens when you wake someone up." I taunt back.
"Crap I woke you up? I feel bad but you had to get up." She laughs.
"You didn't wake us." Scarlett smirks as she walks out from behind me and past Lizzie and I, heading downstairs.
Lizzie's eyes widen and her jaw slacks a little when she realizes that we were already awake. "No. Lizzie. Nothing happened." I'm quick to stop her from practically jumping for joy.
