Katie's POV
it's 10pm. Scarlett and I have found a cozy spot under the boardwalk to watch the fireworks from, where no one can see us and it's lets me reminisce about the day.

Today was another perfect day and surprisingly enough, was out in public without her being recognized. And something totally awesome happened.....Scarlett told me she loved me.

I know! I cannot believe it. I can't believe I admitted to her back that I love her too. I always knew I had, I felt in my bones, ya know? But to say it out loud after she confirmed it first is just un real.

As the grand finale fireworks start to go off I look over at Scarlett and see her in awe of the spectacular view in front of us. I can see the fireworks mirrored through her eyes and I'd rather watch her than anything else.

"Do you wanna head out before it's gets crowded by everyone leaving?" I lean over and ask her.

"Hm? Oh yeah, sure." She smiles at me and leans in kissing my lips before we stand from the sand and exit underneath the boardwalk. We take the short walk to my car, hand in hand, and my whole entire body is fluttering with butterflies. She was very touchy after the whole photo booth thing, always putting her arm around my waist or hooking a finger in mine every so often while walking. Very subtle but I felt it and I loved it.

As we're driving towards our houses, I decide on a late night snack and drive directly past our exit and get off the next one.

"Is this when you take me somewhere to kill me?" Scarlett jokes but slides her fingers into my hand interlocking our fingers.

"I can't do that anymore, you love me." I smirk at her expecting an eye roll but there's nothing but love and adoration pouring out of her eyes.

It almost makes me emotional seeing it. I'm not used to that and never looked for love elsewhere after not getting it at home. I drowned myself in alcohol and partying to escape the pain I was in. Who knew all I needed was some love?

"That's right, I do." She lets her teeth shine through a magnificent smile then looks out the window to see where I'm pulling into. "McDonald's!?"

"You've had McDonald's before right?" I ask honestly because I've never seen the woman eat fast food in my life.

"Yes baby, I have." She chuckles but all I can feel is my face and neck heat up from the nickname. "I'll have an Oreo McFlurry and a nugget."

"You got it." I say pulling into the drive thru.

I order us both McFlurrys and some food before pulling in the back of the empty lot to park.

"Mmm god I haven't had a McFlurry in years." Scarlett moans as she eats her ice cream treat and I can't help but squeeze my legs together at the sounds. "Mmmm fuck it's sooo good!" She moans again and my legs cross trying to keep it together.

"Oh you like that........baby?" She teases seeing my flustered state. She takes a scoop and lifts it to her mouth poking her tongue out. She swirls her tongue around the spoon before popping it into her mouth and slowly dragging it out making her sweet lips pop.

"Scar.." I warn and roll my eyes looking out the window.

I tried so hard. So so hard, to control myself and my feelings. The whole time during the rides and games I controlled my hands and didn't give it to my craving to touch her. But I mean eventually, I couldn't hold back anymore.

Going into that photo booth was the best decision of my life so far. What was supposed to be a lust fueled make out turned into a love filled confession. It broke down a wall for me. It made me my insides jump for joy and my heart took a sigh in contentment. I've been in awe ever since.
