Vector stepped into the portal still holding you close to his chest. As you traveled through the bright vortex, the familiar sight of Heartland reached your eyes. You were back, and you've never been so happy to see the familiar sight.
The pain in your chest was still there but it didn't hurt so much anymore. After catching your breath, you immediately squirmed out of his arms and got back on your own two feet. Vector himself shifted back to his human form and kept watching you with that unnerving grin of his.
"Now, where shall we go, princess?"
You couldn't meet his gaze. "Let's go to the park."
He hummed in agreement and snatched your hand in his. As he pulled you along, you realized that it was still midday. 'Huh? But wasn't it evening just a short while ago...?' At least I was evening when you went to bed and Vector suddenly showed up. Could it be that you were knocked out completely until morning rolled around? And in Barian World nonetheless?
The thought of Vector looking over you as you slept made you shiver and feel queasy.
"Hm? What's with that look (y/n)?"
The question caught you off guard. He must've been observing you as you thought to yourself. "I - uh, I'm just a bit hungry."
He quirked his eyebrow and suddenly pulled you close to his chest. You were stunned even more so when he cupped your cheek and began observing your expression. He suddenly looked mildly concerned. "I didn't even think about food. You must be starving princess."
'He seriously didn't think that through?!' You almost wanted to smack him but decided against it.
"Humans need a lot of things don't they?" He thought to himself, all the while still holding you close. "A pain, but if it'll make you happy then I suppose I'll listen to you needs and desires." He pressed a light kiss on your forehead and it took all the strength in you not to wipe it clean.
'If you really wanted to make me happy then you'd leave me alone.' You thought bitterly. But at the same time he was at least willing to listen to you, and that would be your greatest advantage.
"Oh I know," He let you go but kept his hand firmly interlocked with yours. "Let's go to that cafe we used to visit and grab something to eat from there." His voice was light and cheerful, and the look on his face made it seem like it was Ray standing next to you. In fact, that cafe he was talking about was one you'd frequently visit with the red head when you'd both leave school.
Such a fond memory had now become sour as you walked along with the Barian. But at the same time, this was the opportunity you've been waiting for. You two were going someplace public, somewhere where you'd have the opportunity to escape him while there were people around. There was no way he'd use his Barian powers to catch you in front of so many people. Well, there was a possibility but you tried to think positively.
However, the Barian walking next to you had already caught wind of what your plan was. He didn't know exactly what it was but he definitely knew you'd try to escape him. It was obvious really, even after giving your word he knew you'd still try to leave him.
Vector grinned to himself. 'Of course she'll try to find somewhere or someone to escape to but,' His grip tightened. 'As long as I keep my eye on her, that won't happen. No, you won't leave my side (y/n), not this time.'
As you two walked, Vector seemed to avoid the populated streets, as if he didn't want to be around too many people. You noticed instantly and grew a bit nervous. In order to leave him you had to be around people, but it looked like Vector already knew your plan and aimed to stop it.
