Everything was quiet. Not even the wind rang through your ears. You remained motionless on the ground.

"What just happened?"

You weren't clueless but the entire thing was just too shocking to comprehend. He tried to kill you. No, not as a threat, he actually tried to. You'd figure after all this time something had to have happened, but this threw you way off. You looked at the direction he had dissappeared to and gradually came back to your senses.

"Was it just me or did I hear another voice during that whole thing..." It was a very faint voice but you were able to catch it. It was very deep and menacing.

"I couldn't hear what he said but I'm certain he was talking to Vector."

Maybe you should've stayed with the others. You let out a groan from the pain on your back and steadily made your way back. In just a few steps you fell over again.

"Grr, my..back." No matter how much you kept your posture up, intense pain went up your spine and knocked you down.

"Crap, did he damage my spine?" It certainly felt like it. You let out more groans and sounds of pain. Yes, it hurt a lot, but you didn't want to stay in the empty part of the city when you could be helping the others. Every movement hurt, but you dealt with it.

"I have to check up on them..."

Vector kept shaking his head. You were still in his mind and he was questioning why. He didn't even know you so why is he thinking about you? It was quite frustrating and he had a feeling he was missing something. He already knew Don Thousand messed with his memory long ago, but know it felt like he may have done it again. A part of him believed his hunch was right but the other part of him shook it off as unimportant. This conflict remained in his mind until a voice spoke up.

"Vector, the time to defeat Yuma and take the power of the other Barians is approaching. This is no time to be lounging and watching from afar." Vector came back to his senses.

"I'm just taking a break. Besides it's fun watching Yuma and his friends crumble and be exterminated!" He cackled.

Ba-dump

Vector stopped his cackle and felt something in his throat. Almost like he didn't mean that. Don Thousand took notice and asked.

"Are you thinking about that mortal girl?"

"Now why would I be thinking of her? She's just another pest."

"........." He didnt respond and faded back into the shadows leaving Vector by himself again.

"It's not like she can do anything to stop me." He thought back to you again. "She's just a frail and weak human." He remembered how easily he picked you up. "And I can easily kill her." He remembered when he threw you to the ground.

"And she's-" Another flash went through his mind. "She's... agh!" Vector slammed his fist on the ground.

"How annoying, I'll take her life with my own hands, maybe then these flashes will stop." He clenched his fists and resumed watching the other Barian's duels.

*Your POV*

Another lonely breeze passed through the city and gently brushed on your side. That was enough to make you stumble a bit.

"This is ridiculous. I barely joined them again and I'm already in terrible condition." Your hands were on your back to keep you stable and soothe the pain. But keeping straight was proven difficult.
