"What happened to him? Who could have done that?"
He's watching.
"O? Tapos ka na? I'll drive you to the event.
What happened that day bothers me. And it still haunts me. I was helpless. I couldn't even fight. I was left helplessly hoping someone will rescue me, but it was too late, I got bruises that left on my wrist. Tinakpan ko iyon ng makapal na bracelet.
Nasa sasakyan na kami pero tahimik lang. Iniisip ko ang napanood kanina. The man was beaten harshly. He deserved it. Whoever beated him, is such a saviour. The fear and pain I felt that day is nothing compares to his wounds.
There were security guards that guides me to the entrance. I was met by the cameras and paparazzis, asking for the project I refused to join. I never imagined that it will blow this far.
"Omg! Che, is that you?"
A woman in her silven gown approached me. At first, hindi ko pa nakikilala. But when I saw her, I remember her.
Ngumiti ako sa kan'ya.
"I never thought going to Spain will make you beautiful as you are. Gusto ko na tuloy tumira doon," she giggled.
I smiled again. I don't understand Akio refused of marrying her. It was three years ago. When I was in Spain, when I heard Akio's mother arranged his marriage with this woman. I mean, I've been chatting this woman on social media, trying to figure out what kind of woman my best friend will be married. Only to find out that Akio refused the proposal.
"Spain just healed me," tipid kong sukli.
I know she knew what happened. And I talked about my issues here in the Philippine before I left for Spain.
She smiled and hugged me.
I was alone standing on a table while drinking wine. I was offered, so I grabbed it. Everyone is busy chit-chatting. I looked at the old-foreigner laughing with some businessmen. He's the guest for tonight's event. I heard he's successfully running a business in Paris. He ranked number One this year, that's why he's here for some partnership.
I sipped on my wine while looking at him. I caught his stares. Kanina pa siya tumitingin sa akin. I smirked when our eyes met. I saw him smiled and excused himself.
"You beauty caught me tonight, Lady. You resemblance someone I know."
I smiled and put my wine on the table. I flipped my playful bangs and looked at him.
"Thank you. I guess that someone you are talking about is a special person," I smiled.
He laughed. "Oh, yeah. She's my only daughter that is now resting in heaven."
Napalunok ako. "I am sorry."
