That night, surprisingly and pleasantly there were no nightmares, and the next morning Metis woke me up at 8 o'clock.
For a moment I wondered where I was, but quickly the memories of the previous day came back to my mind and I realized that, just like when I went to sleep, I was in house number 2.
So, wondering what the day's itinerary would be, I sat on the side of the bed and yawned.
- Hey Metis, what am I supposed to do today? - I asked after unlocking the tablet screen.
-The Contact Committee has scheduled from 9 to 11 am for medical tests, and from 11:30 to 1:00 pm you have the first Extraterrestrial Studies class.
-Extraterrestrial Studies, wow.
After a brief conversation with the virtual assistant, I took a shower, and after dressing in a gray sleeveless top, a light blue and white tie dye sweatshirt, and high-waisted black cargo pants, I left the house, and with the backpack on my shoulder I unhooked the new bicycle.
A small screen in the center of the handlebars turned on instantly and after uttering a beep, a computerized voice exactly like Metis said "Good morning Asteria, the route has already been loaded."
Happy to be spared the fact of wandering lost in a still partially unknown place, I began to pedal, heading towards the building indicated by the GPS.
As if it were one of the big technology companies, I walked along winding roads where I passed a gym, an Olympic-type swimming pool, a library and even a shooting range. Or at least that's what the signs in front of each one said.
Suddenly the road was once again only bordered by trees and bushes for about a kilometer. Since no one else was on the path, I took a second to close my eyes and feel the wind on my face, and the sound of the trees and birds. I felt a peace that had eluded me for years, and I let it wash over me for a moment.
"Turn right in 10 meters" - the GPS suddenly said, and luckily I opened my eyes just before crashing into another person, who was stopped with his bicycle looking at something ahead.
- Shit - I muttered, squeezing the brakes until they screamed.
-Oh, God, I'm sorry -said the girl with long, golden blonde hair with bangs, whom I almost ran over.
-No, no problem... I think I got a little distracted - I responded, at the same time as I looked at the familiar garment she was wearing. - Are you also a Representative?
She was wearing the Alliance's sweatshirt, a light beige sweater with a leaf design in brown and green tones, perfectly combined with a dark brown pleated skirt.
-One of the humans – she answered. - And you?
-Human too, Asteria Vidal – I said, and stretched out my hand greeting her.
-Briar Johnson, or just... Briar. Although I'm not sure I should say it - she responded, and to my confusion, she added: -Have they already given you the talk?
