When I went to bed that day around 10 pm, I assumed that despite everything, the night would be peaceful, considering that the preparations had already been planned and rehearsed down to the last detail. But lately I was making the mistake of jumping to conclusions and I soon had proof of it.
Early in the morning someone knocked on the door of what I now called my home and, surprised, I got up and went to open the door, still somewhat sleepy, to find none other than agent Diana Cameron.
Before even greeting her, I looked at the digital clock in the room. 5:03 in the morning. So far it didn't seem like a nightmare, and at least for the hour I wasn't arriving late anywhere.
– Yes, I broke some rules, is that why you are here? – I said without enthusiasm, as a greeting.
– May I come in? – Diana looked around her and then back at me.
– Sure.
What could bring her to my house at this time, just at dawn the day of the great Ceremony?
– If you came here to tell me that the Circelians are already among us, you are a little bit too late – I said, and after yawning I added: – Was the competition thing also a lie?
– The false competition with other supposed humans was so that no one would panic because they were close to the aliens – Diana said.
– Ah...well, nothing happened.
– Fantastic, now...I'll be brief – she said, saving me from asking for more explanations – Do you already have the group I asked for?
– I have taken these two weeks to get to know them, but I have several candidates with a lot of potential – I replied – How many people do you want exactly?
– Five besides you is enough for me, but there could be a few more.
– What about the scientists? Can I include any of them?
– I would prefer not. Although they will be presented at the Alliance ceremony as well, they have had and will later have a different schedule than the 14 representatives. So, I suggest you forget them for now.
– Understood.
– Well, you have a week – she said, and even though the deadline was decent, the woman seemed to feel urgency about the fact that I completed the task.
– Are you sure you're not Circelian? – I joked.
– Why do you say so? – Diana walked back to the door and opened it.
– You seem really concerned about the well-being of the aliens.
– Stop asking – the woman said, and before leaving she added, – I'll tell you what happens when you tell me the names of the people I asked you for.

If the first Monday of May had already attracted enough attention like every year at the MET Gala, it was the last Friday of May that garnered the highest ratings, probably in history.
