Soaring through the fluffy clouds, we returned to Missing with the first light of dawn and entered house number 2 with the morning sun.
Jasper's belongings were neatly arranged in the entry hall, where his bicycle was now also parked, next to mine.
– So... 4 months... – the Circelian said in a low voice and then added – I thought we would all live together in some kind of big house, like human hotels.
– Hmm... maybe it should have been like that. But hey, at least we have a kitchen completely to ourselves.
– And do we have something to play music on? – Jasper asked.
– Yes, there are speakers in the living room and in my room.
– Oh – Jasper said thoughtfully, – what about my room?
Long story, boy.
– Come with me – I urged him to follow me, and already on the second floor I walked towards the room that should be his if...
– Where...where is the furniture? – Jasper asked, confused, when I opened the door to the unfinished room that was still the same.
– They were supposed to fix this place for you, but they never did – I explained, – so for now you'll have to sleep in my room.
– Are you sure?
I nodded as we walked the steps that separated us from my room, and upon entering, I went to my bed and sat down. Maybe I wouldn't say it out loud yet, but if the unfinished rooms were a pattern in the other houses, then there was clearly an intention involved.
– I guess we're roommates now – I said, pointing my eyes towards the other bed.
Jasper went over to it and sat down as well, both of us on opposite sides of the room.
– And now that?

After those two very busy days, taking a well-deserved nap was the first thing that both Jasper and I did, and a few hours later I woke up much more rested.
I couldn't deny it, the last two days had been idyllic if I omitted the detail of the kind of planetary wedding we had been subjected to. But now came what had really brought me to this place.
I sat calmly on the bed, leaned my back against the wall and watched Jasper, sleeping peacefully with the afternoon sun's rays caressing his soft skin.
Two paths opened before me, and a clear choice.
After much thought on the return flight, I came to the conclusion that if I wanted to get to the 1821 file to clarify the circumstances of the accident, I had to leave Jasper out of it. Or at least keep the friendship we had as just that, even though I would have liked things to be different.
