Summer's Over

No one's point on view

It was a new day, the weather was getting chiller, both Norma and Onceler woke up more euphoric than usual, they both couldn't wait to see the other one.

Norma's point of view

I got ready to go and meet my new friend, but before leaving home, i put on a jacket since the weather was becoming really cold, so while i was walking it popped in my mind that Onceler is new of here so he didn't now that in the second week of October the weather get's colder, so i quickly went to a shop to buy him a jacket, i came later than what i thought but at least he wasn't going to freeze.

I finally arrived at his cottage, hoping i wasn't late, i knocked at his door, and he opened it immediately, he had such a bright smile "Good morning Norma! you're here, what's in that bag that you got?" he said pointing at my bag where inside there was the jacket, every time that he talked he had the excitement of a kid, it was really cute, "Good morning to you too! I don't know if you noticed it or not but the weather it's getting colder  so i bought you a jacket, just to keep you warm" i said handing to him the bag, he went inside "Come in" he told me, and saw what i bought for him "Aww, thank you Norma, you didn't had to, really, but i appreciate it a lot, how much it was?" he said taking his wallet, even if i wasn't really sure about it, i saw that his face had spread a slight blush.

Onceler's point of view

"No no, you don't owe me anything, it's just a gift since you're new of here" Norma said with the cutest smile ever, for me, it was impossible to resist her, "Okay, if you don't accept money, what if you accept this?" i said wrapping on her head a thneed as a hat, she looked so good with it, "Really Onceler, you don't have to, it was just a gift... buuuut since you insist so much i think i'm gonna keep the thneed, thank youuu" she said with a sly smile, "How adorable " i thought.

However we got outside, i was sat on a chair while knitting, meanwhile Norma was doing... i don't have any idea of what was, she was spinning on herself, walking around, and then get really close to me stare at my hooks and then keep walking, i literally knitted an entire thneed while laughing at her actions, "Hey Onceler can i ask you something? just to make conversation, i'm getting a little bit bored" she said while laying on the ground with an tired look, "Yeah i noticed that, sure, what do you wanna talk about?" i said still giggling a little bit, "If you had a daughter, what would you call her?" she asked staring at the sky, i blushed a little bit from that question "I think i would name her Margaret, i like the name, why do you ask?" i said while still knitting,"Margaret? it's a pretty name, i asked you that because i was thinking about your name and why a mother would call her son like that... i'm not meaning it as an insult, however if I should answer the same question... i would prefer to have a son and call him Ted, it sounds good" she said completely motionless, maybe she was tired from the spinning of before, or maybe she just found something better to do.

Norma's point of view

"And that's why i would tell everything to someone if they bring me 15 cents, a nail, and a shell of a great-great grandfather's snail" he said while eating some fries, it was afternoon and we were eating a snack since neither of us had breakfast and lunch, "Okay... i have two questions... why? and how did we end to talk about this?" i said with a puzzled face, "i don't know either" he said with an embarrassed smile, "how many thneeds have you knitted until now?" i asked as i noticed that there was some tuft of truffula his clothes, "Uhm.. i think 3, now i started the 4th" he said now grabbing a bag of marshmallows and throw a few in his mouth "Only 3? i mean, it's impressive that in those hours you knitted so much, but if you keep going like this it'll get an eternity to finish all the orders" i said worried that his dream would fail if he continues like this, "Hey Norma, don't worry, i already thought of that, i called my family to help me, they'll arrive the next week, with their help i'm sure that my business will only get better" he patted my shoulder to make me feel better, it did, "Your family? how are they?" i said curious and happy to meet them, instead Onceler had the opposite reaction, he seemed really uncomfortable and he rubbed his arm "Well, they're not the best people ever, but i can say that... no i can't, they're not the best people that's it, would.. would you stay with me until they'll be here and after, please?" he had the most uncomfortable and sad face ever, it hurt me to see him like that, so i stood up and wrapped my arms around him, at first he felt surprised by that but after a few seconds he hugged me back, i heard his heart bumping really fast, "...thank you Norma" he whispered, and hugged me more tight.

Onceler's point of view

I don't know how, but only after a day that we know each other she hugged me, even if she was way to shorter than me, i felt so safe in her arms, that hug was warm and i felt all the love that she put into it, i wanted to cry in her arms for how much loved i felt, but i didn't wanted to look uncomfortable or a creep.
Did i looked so miserable that she understood that i needed a hug? or maybe she's telepathic and read in my mind, however i wanted to feel her warm forever, but i couldn't, so i broke the hug and i looked at her, she had the most beautiful smile ever, that made my heart lighter, i just hope that she's gonna make me feel better even when my family will be here.
