~TWENTY TWO~

Another update on the same ish day...so here u gooo!!!

It had been a month and a half since they started dating and four months since they met. Their relationship was going much better than Akanksha expected it to go. She expected him to lose interest halfway through a month but they were way past one. Sometimes she even got nightmares of him leaving her, immediately she'd wake up only to find him asleep on the other side of the phone. His soft breaths lulling her back to sleep. Even when he wasn't these physically...he was still there, even in his absence he didn't let her feel it.

Shubman was supposed to leave Australia in four days and once again he was on a call with Akanksha.

"Akanksha, mai soch rha tha kuch weeks k liye Perth aa jau. Tum batao na mai kya karu." Luckily Ishan was taken away by Rishabh or he would throw a tantrum about Shubman talking to Akanksha. He didn't like her and he didn't trust her ever since she ghosted him. No friend would like the person who made their best friend upset to the point they cried. Since there was a time difference between Perth and Melbourne, Akanksha had only just gotten home from Uni. It was her last day and her graduation which was in a few week's time.

"Iske baad tumhari tour next year tak nhi hai na?" She asked wanting to know more about the conditions. But honestly she really did want him around longer. Without realising he'd become an addiction of hers that she just couldn't pull out of. Talking to him late into the night. Waking up to Chitra's cries and his calls had become her life. So many times she'd even fallen asleep while on call with him. And he'd done the same quite many times. They'd both fall asleep listening to others breathing.

They imagined the other in their arms as that was the only thing that helped them fall asleep.

"Haan. Aur mummy papa ko bhi koi problem nhi hai." She couldn't help but nod straight away for him to stay. "Yahi ruk jao Shub." She smiled cutely at him. He flashed his dimples at her, seeing her excitement.

There was a twist in the show though. Ishan and Rishabh were going to stay for a week as well. Ishan wanted to know what made Shubman want to stay with her so desperately. Even with the way she ghosted him. He tried his hardest to make Shubman break up with her. He kept telling him that she didn't deserve him. So he needed to see for himself...exactly who she was. He needed to know if she really did deserve him. And so the three walked through the airport and out of it.

There she stood in her favourite blue bootcut jeans with white top and varsity jacket. Her hair was out and sprawled across her chest. She held Chitra in her arms with a smile, ready to greet the boys.

Chitra wrestled in Akanksha's arms to be put down and so she did. As soon as Chitra's feet touched the ground, she ran to Shubman.

"Papa~ papa~" At this point she had called out papa more than mama but even that made Akanksha happy. Chitra had that father figure Akanksha feared she would be unable to provide Chitra with. She couldn't believe she was going to deprive her little one of such an adorable relationship, just because of her fears.

Shubman plucked Chitra into his arms, kissing her head with a fatherly love. She clung onto his neck like a Koala. Shubman took longer strides than the others trying to buy himself more time with her. Immediately he wrapped his arms around her neck as his head dropped on her shoulder.

"I missed you." He muttered to her. She snapped out of her daze and hugged back. She wanted to hug him so tight but she didn't want to show him just how desperately she missed him. She gripped his shirt instead, so tight that her knuckles turned white. She didn't say it back but she didn't have to.
