Well I don't really like cliff hangers either so here it issssss!!!!!
________________________________________________________________________________Shubman really enjoyed the time he spent chatting with Akanksha...everyday he couldn't wait to grab his phone and text her...chatting for hours. He knew he was attracted to her since the very beginning but only after talking to her so much did he understand the extent to which it went. Her introverted but caring nature, her ability to somehow always remember everything about others, how she was always ready to hear him out no matter what. The way she always knew the right things to say, whether he was upset about his performance or happy about it. She always had ways she could make his day better. She always showed so much care in how she spoke as to not hurt anyone. He liked absolutely everything about her.
The word love meant so much to him, he didn't dare use it. Not even for Akanksha. To him love was and he quotes from a movie "Love is the feeling that's left after you've done absolutely everything with your partner." (Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty- no comment about the movie tho...) He had already failed in it once because he gave it to someone so quickly. He gave it his everything while she gave nothing. Even though he knew Akanksha wasn't the same, he didn't dare give his feelings the title of love. But how could he not...when she was so attentive to all his needs. She watched every single one of his matches. She spent time trying to help Shubman analyse any ball he had difficulty facing. She couldn't help most of the time but she was still always there to try...and one day...she stopped...completely.
She made him feel so important...and after all that, she left him feeling as if he was nothing at all. He still tried to make himself believe she was busy and that's why she couldn't text back...but it was too random. She always let him know if she was going to be busy or was busy. But there was nothing...nothing at all.
"Bhai maine kuch galat kiya kya?" Shubman sounded so...vulnerable as he asked Rishabh. He knew if he asked Ishan he would blame it on Akanksha completely instead of telling him what he did that might've made her draw out from their conversations.
"Toh Akanksha...reply kyu nhi kar rhi?" Rishabh didn't see anything that might've been Shubman's fault. She had just completely stopped talking. Rishabh shook his head.
"Pata nhi...shayad woh busy hai," He tried to argue. Shubman already had a friend who was overprotective of him, so Rishabh would be the supportive one.
"Shayad." Shubman texted her for a few more days only to not zero reply. Although he didn't let that affect his game, everyone could tell there was something affecting him as a person. He barely got involved in conversations. He always refused to go out. He constantly checked his phone. Just closed himself off.
"Hua kya hai isko?" Rishabh shook his head asking them to not question it. Ishan ignored Rishabh's gesture and walked towards Shubman, and grabbed his phone out of his hand.
"Ishan, wapis de mera phone." There wasn't anyone else in the room, it was just them. Shubman lunged forward to grab his phone but Ishan pushed him away.
"Bas bohot hua. Kya devdas jaise baitha hai. Jab pata hai ki isko teri kadar nhi hai toh tu kyu karta hai usse message. Sab ladkiya aaisi hi hoti hai." Shubman fought against Ishan to get his phone back. "Isne bhi use kiya na tujhe? Tere sath flirt karti gyi. First she made you get hope and then left you hopeless. Kab samjhega tu?" Shubman stood silently staring at the floor with a dejected look.
"Woh aisi ladki nhi hai Ishan...I'm sure kuch toh hai jo use rok rha hai." Shubman's face scrunched in sadness.
"Shub galat famy palna bandh kar. She used you. Ye baat daal le aapne bheje mai and stop thinking she'll text back." Shubman looked away, having nothing to say. "She won't text back. And I'm not gonna lose my friend to a girl. Again. She doesn't deserve you when she doesn't know your worth past your fame."
Shubman looked up, "Ishan she doesn't care about fame, she has never even asked for a photo with me-" "She's obviously playing hard to get. Meri baat samaj aur isse aapne life se nikal de before she hurts you even more." Shubman stared away in a trance.
Ishan gripped Shubman's shirt collar, "Mujhse promise kar, you won't text her again. Bol." He understood where Ishan was coming from but that didn't mean he wanted to cut her out of his life just like that.
"Promise kar." He repeated. Shubman shook his head, "Nhi please." He pleaded. Ishan extended his palm for Shubman to place his own on. "Shub, promise kar. Don't let her ruin your life." Shubman shook his head as his eyes filled up with tears.
Ishan refused to back down. Shubman's tears rolled down his cheeks as he whispered, "I really liked her, Ishan. I really wanted there to be something." He sniffled, covering his eyes with the heels of his palm. "Ye mere humesha mere sath hi kyu hota hai? Did I do something wrong, Ishan?"
"Shub, teri koi galti nhi hai. Tune kuch galat nhi kiya hai."
Even with the support of so many people, Shubman just couldn't get himself to forget his memories with her. He kept remembering many of their conversations. So many times, he got the urge to text her again but he kept his promise to Ishan. He didn't text her again. He even deleted her contact, he just couldn't look at her messages again. But he couldn't not look at it either. So he did what he could. He deleted her contact.

Akanksha took it just as badly, if not, even worse than Shubman did. It took everything in her to not text him. She kept looking at his texts, at the beginning they were just sweet things he wanted to say to her...slowly it became much more guilty...
