Years had passed, generations even.

They had lost the other physically...but he could never lose the love for her.

He had disappeared to the world completely, and went missing after the death of Akanksha. Alzheimer's being the reason...

Her memories were lost as dementia overtook her. She had forgotten about their relationship completely...even in that blank state...she found herself wanting only his comfort.

Even during the time everyone lost trust...she still held the faith in him to reach out to him first as she fell out of her wheelchair.

And he held on...as he had promised years prior to their permanent commitment to each other. He would be there as her support for as long as she needed.

And he was...even after the world considered him missing...legends say, he could still after years be seen at the place they had first met.

By the riverside where he had first heard her melodious voice. Some say he could still be seen sitting there slightly swaying his body as if he could hear some music in the silence. Her singing as the wind rattled the trees.

He swayed as if he could hear the first words he had heard her sing.

"Behti hawa sa tha woh~" He imagined.

Some say they could sometimes see a sort of glimmer around him, enveloping him. Encasing him in its warmth. His hair could be seen getting ruffled by the light as the wind helped it.

Some say flowers rained on him as he mourned for the loss of his lover.

But little did they know she was still there. Even after death, he still heard her voice echoing around him.

"Shubman...mai yahi hu..." The echo of the voice made him feel as if she was far away but the warmth that it produced in his heart...he knew she was closer than he knew.

"Pata hai Akanksha." He smiled. He looked in front as he saw the fireflies move around, forming their own picture of Akanksha's smile. Aiding Shubman in seeing her.

"Toh ro kyu rhe ho?" Her voice dropped low with worry. Finally feeling the warm substance on his face, he raised his hand to swipe against his face.

He lowered his hand, becoming much more visible as it moved further away from his eyes. As the lights made contact with the watery substance it reflected...more tears cascaded down his face.

"Shub, khush nhi ho mujhe dekh kar?" She asked. He shook his head immediately as a soft smile formed on his lips, his dimples still prominent even with the wrinkles on his face.

"Bohot khush hu." The fireflies danced to form another picture of Akanksha, while a sudden gust of wind zoomed past his figure, taking his tears with it.

"Mujhe chodke jana zaroori tha?" The fireflies moved around once again forming an animation of her shaking her head.

"Maine tumhe kabhi nhi choda hai Shubman. Humesha tumare saath chalti aa rhi hu. Jo barish mai bheegte ho...woh bhi mai hi hu." Shubman felt her warmth on his hand. He saw a light glow around it as if it was just Akanksha comforting him.

"Bahane dhood rhi hu taki ek aaur baar tumhe choo saku. Par ab sab thik hai...humare bacche sab bade hogye hai...Chitra, Sarthak. Ab tum bhi mere paas aa sakte ho." He nodded. Curling his legs as he rested his head against her reflection casted by the trees.

"Akanksha...ek gana gake sunao na?" She smiled.

"Kisi roz baarish jo aaye~ samajh lena boondo mai mai hu. Subah dhoop tumko sataye, samajh lena kirno me mai hu..." along with her song, his eyes dipped closed, he fell back into her embrace once again...They were together until the very end...as promised.

They loved so hard and they kept loving, until the very end- until their very end.
