The first place she went home to her mother, who only met her outside their house and led her somewhere else.

"Kanna, ye rha humara naya ghar." Akanksha turned to her mother with a shocked expression. It wasn't a big house, it was just a small flat, but it meant so much. "Mumma? Ye-"

"Tujhe uss ghar me nhi rehna tha na? Kuch din yaha rehte hai aur badme jaha shift hona hai waha ghar lete hai...meri yeh kuch savings hai woh..." She hugged her mother tightly.

The next place she went was the place where Shubman's practices were going on. He still practised even when his matches had a while to start again. Akanksha waited outside the gates for Shubman to get out and since he immediately texted her right after his practice ended. Which was right about...now.

Her prediction proved ti be right as her phone dinged, alerting her of a message.

Love💕🫶

Babyyyy!!!!!

AKANKSHA!!!!!

Baby kaha ho tum!??

She chuckled at his adorable messages. Ignoring them for now.

Busy ho?

Accha thik hai...5 min baad message karta hu

She held onto her excitement waiting patiently for Shubman to come out. And he did, he dragged his kit bag behind him. He was on his phone with a pout on his face...likely texting her. And she was right.

BABYYY!!!

5 MINS HO GYEE!!!

She hid behind the walls of the gate. The watchmen glared at her thinking that maybe she was a crazy fan. She just avoided their eyes waiting for him to pass the gate. As he did. She took slow sneaky steps towards him, the watchmen got even more suspicious... "Sir ji aapke piche koi hai."  Akanksha was flipped around immediately by the security guard. Shubman turned around to her back figure however, with how much Shubman looked at her when they were together...oh he could recognise her in his sleep.

He almost jumped when he saw her, "Akanksha..." She peeled her eyes open slowly as she heard his footsteps come towards her. He hugged her torso, spinning her around. She expected him to be happy but not this violently happy.

"Shubh chodo mujhe." She held him tightly so he didn't drop her but hell she loved the feeling of his arms around her. As soon as he dropped her, she wrapped her arms around him properly.

"I missed you." She whispered. He kissed her head gently. "I missed you more...Chia kaha hai?"

"Mumma k sath hai, Delhi." Her voice came out muffled against his shoulders. She looked over them to see the watchman looking away in embarrassment and guilt.

Akanksha pushed apart from Shubman walking to him.

"Namaste bhaiya." She put her hands together. He reciprocated the gesture. "Namaste madam."

"I'm sorry bhaiya. Maine aapko khamakha hi dara diya." She sweetly yet sheepishly apologised for the unintentional scare she gave him.

"Nhi madam. Galti meri thi. Maine aap kon ho puche bagher hi aapko pakda maine. Mujhe maaf kardena." He put his hands together asking for forgiveness. But it didn't sit right with her.

"Are nhi. Aap toh sirf aapna kaam kar rhe the. Aap ki koi galti nhi hai." She smiled at him who smiled back, dropping his hands to his side.

"Shukriya madam." "Are nhi bhaiya. Aisa kuch nhi hai." She dismissed the apology and thank you as he hadn't done anything wrong and she hadn't done anything worth receiving gratitude for.

Shubman smiled at the whole ordeal and wrapped his arms around her shoulders walking towards his car.

"Australia me mai passenger princess banke baitha tha, ab tumhari baari." She chuckled and sat in the passenger seat.

He got in from the other side, closing the door behind him. As he did so, her eyes never left him. She continued to look at him with utmost adoration. He turned to face her, nodding his head.

"Kya hua?" She shook her head. "Kuch nhi."

He didn't believe her, and with a hint of skepticism, he asked "Pakka?"

"I love you." She whispered to him leaving him stunned.
He heaved a deep sigh, driving back with a look of peace on his face. He held her hand while she barely took her eyes away from him.

"Kab tak ho tum India mai?" He barely turned to look at her but he always had a content smile on his face. "Mai India mai settle ho rhi hu. Aur agar tumhe koi problem nhi hai toh...hum Mohali shift hone ka soch rhe the." He pulled her hand up to kiss her knuckles.

"Mujhe koi problem nhi hai." He held her hand tighter. "Lekin tum ye sab kyu kar rhi ho?"

"I want to spend as much time as I can with you. So mujhe laga agar ghar paasme ho toh..." He really wanted her to be close to him so they can go out together whenever they wanted but he didn't want her to have to leave her life behind for him.

"But-" "Shubh, tumne mere liye bohot kiya hai, it's time I do something for us. Maine hospitals dhund rakkhe hai resume bhejne k lliye. Hopefully kahin se jawab aayega." Shubman frowned, worrying Akanksha. "Kyu? Kya hua? Thik nhi kya?" Her heart beat harshly against her ribs in fear, she feared even after all this time of dating that he didn't want her that close to him. She feared the rejection.

"Nursing kyu?" Shubman stopped in front of a park. Akanksha looked confused, "Matlab? Maine nursing kari hai toh...nursing job?"

Shubman turned towards her, completely holding both her hands in his. "Akanksha tum nursing k liye nhi bani ho...you're made for something greater. Kabhi khudki awaaz suni hai tumne? Or heard yourself singing? That's what you're made for. Singing." He put all the emphasis on 'that's' trying to be convincing. Because to him, there couldn't be a better singer than her. Now she needed to realise that, not him.

"I'm not made for singing. And even if I am...it's too late Shub." He shook his head, framing her face with his hand. "Akanksha it's never too late as long as you're willing to try, lekin jab tum late sochne lag jaogi na? Tab- that's when it's too late. So believe me." She disagreed.

"Akanksha mujhe pata hai your love for singing is the same as my love for cricket. So give it a shot, nhi toh pachtawa hoga." She sighed. "Toh mujhe kya karna chaiye?" Shubman grinned from ear to ear. "Indian Idol."

(Let's assume Indian Idol happens in January...)
