OCTAVIOUS POV:
"Yesterday we had a wedding but since we are both cowboys we won't be doing one today" said Jedediah.
I was surprised by this.
"Cowboys don't get married" I asked.
"No, we spend a lot of time away from home" said Jedediah.
"Even the straights" I asked.
"Yep, now I can't speak for the ladies but I assume they don't want to marry and have kids with a man who is never at home to help. Plus with all the traveling I think the women would get lonely. So the west does have marriage but cowboys usually never get married. Plus gay marriage sure isn't allowed so it's not like we can marry each other" said Jedediah.
That sounds sad. If someone doesn't want marriage that's one thing but to not have a relationship with anyone. That sounds lonely, but I guess some people like it that way.
"First we will have breakfast and then start the work" said Jedediah.
Jedediah took me to a place called a saloon. There was people eating and serving food and other stuff.
"Hey Jefferey" said Jedediah as we walked up to the bar.
Jeffery was putting cups away and paused to walk up to us.
"Night you two, what can get for you" asked Jeffery.
"How about some eggs, bacon, and a few flapjacks with a cup of coffee each. Does that work for you" asked Jedediah as he looked at me.
"Yes" I said.
"Coming right up" said Jeffery.
Jedediah and I went to have a seat at a table. I looked around at everything. I noticed there was towels by the bar. There was no seats at the bar. Only at the tables. There was people working, eating, and socializing.
"What's with the sticks that create smoke" I asked.
"Cigerattes, smoking is very popular here but it's also really unhealthy. Gigantor showed us all the lung cancer and other stuff" said Jedediah.
"What's lung cancer" I asked.
"You're so better off not knowing. It's bad, which is why I quite smoking and the tabacoo" said Jedediah.
"Was the tabacoo the chewing gum you refused to share with me" I asked.
"No that was nicotine gum. Gigantor brought it for us but now that the world knows we come to life at night the law is we can't smoke in the museum so they have to create nicotine patches and gum for us to stop smoking but some of the others still do in secret" said Jedediah.
He lifted his sleeve up and showed his patch on his arm.
"Its not easy believe me" said Jedediah.
"But it is healthier" I said.
"I know, buts it's do addicting" said Jedediah.
He put his sleeve down. A worker brought our food and set it on the table.
"Thanks" said Jedediah to the worker.
I looked at the plate. I don't think I have seen a lot of this before. I had eggs before but back in Rome not many people ate eggs. It was a bit expensive. There is also dried meat sticks and some flat cakes. Jedediah started eating his breakfast. I ate the eggs first before trying the flat cake. I picked it up confused.
We have bread for breakfast in Rome but that is very stiff and dipped in wine. However this flat cake is very flimsy. I put it down and used my fork and knife to cut a piece of the cake off. I picked up the piece with the fork and dipped the piece in the coffee. Jedediah spit some of his coffee out as he covered his mouth from a laugh. He swallowed his coffee.
"What are you doing" asked Jedediah.
"Making it easier to chew" I said.
I took the cake out of the coffee.
"You don't have to do that for one. And second we have syrup from pancakes" said Jedediah.
