OCTAVIOUS POV:
I ate the flat cake piece that was dipped in coffee. It taste okay I suppose. I watched as Jedediah dipped his flat cake piece in what he called syrup. I tried it and it taste better then dipping it in coffee.
"That does taste better" I said.
I took a sip of the coffee. It taste, different.
"What exactly is coffee" I asked.
"It's in short a drink that gives energy but can also make someone poop. Most of the west still does regular coffee but now with the world knowing about us the guest have introduced us to cappuccino and other coffee drinks" said Jedediah.
We continued eating and I noticed a man gave a women some money. She slipped it in bra and they left.
"What is that about" I asked pointing.
"What" asked Jedediah.
"The girl was given money by that guy" I said.
The couple left the saloon and Jedediah turned to face me.
"Oh, Shelby is hooker. So Kevin is just paying for her to give him a good time" Jedediah.
I was confused.
"Sex" said Jedediah.
I was still confused.
"What, why" I asked.
"Okay, you remember how I said cowboys are most of the time unmarried and single because we travel" asked Jedediah.
"Yes" I said.
"Well, the traveling is lonely. So there wasn't much for women. Even the towns were bland. So some girls started getting paid to have sex with people and then they put the money towards building a school or a hospital or something" said Jedediah.
I thought about this.
"Are you telling me that your entire culture is built off of sex" I asked.
"Well, something like that. But you bath naked with people and use piss to clean clothes" said Jedediah.
"I know, but people pay for, that" I asked.
"Ya, they are both consenting adults and both single" I said.
"I guess that's fair. Have you ever, done that" I asked.
"I use to. Then we started dating so I stopped. Now that I have someone I no longer need someone for that. So now I just pay Shelby to do my laundry that way I can still give her money" said Jedediah.
"And you were weirded out by the naked Roman yesterday" I said.
"That's different. Now eat up. We have work to do today" said Jedediah.
We ate breakfast before heading to work. Jedediah paid for the food and took me to the farm to work with the other cowboys.
"What's that smell" I asked.
"Get use that. There is a lot of that here" said Jedediah.
We made it and Jedediah got a horse.
"You know how to ride a horse right" he asked.
"Yes, we use them for battle" I said.
"Good, we can skip that part of today. Today we need to round up all the cows and put them in the barn before fixing the fence. So you will be riding this horse today" said Jedediah.
I climbed onto the horse and Jedediah gave me a rope.
"What is this" I asked.
"It's to help catch the cows" said Jedediah.
He grabbed another horse we joined some other cowboys to round up to cows. I noticed the sattle is a bit different then Rome and the horse doesn't have any armor on it.
We not only had to catch cows but bulls as well. There was cowboys riding all over the place and rounding up the cattle.
"Stay bull" a cowboy yelled.
"Octy, can catch it" asked Jedediah.
"I got it" I said.
I grabbed the rope and took a few tried to catch the bull while chasing after it. The horse stopped but the bull didn't so I was pulled off the horse.
