It's 9 a.m., and Danielle has just finished her practice. Out of habit, she would walk through the neighborhood where Haerin lived. It had been 1 year, somehow this habit made her miss Haerin less.
Slowly walking through the house, Danielle suddenly realized something was so strange. Today is Saturday, and Haerin will often sit by the window at this time to study so that she can devote her free time entirely to Sunday. But today, that room didn't light up.
In front of the house was coffee delivered, probably from morning. Haerin often orders coffee delivery to her home on weekdays to save time preparing for the morning in case she wakes up late. She couldn't seem to stay awake without coffee. Over time, Danielle came to know all her routines.
Therefore, Danielle thought something must have gone wrong. Ringing the bell but seeing no response, she looked through the window and saw Haerin lying motionless on the floor. Without hesitation, she immediately slammed the door lock with a nearby fire extinguisher.
Danielle's POV:
I called Haerin's name, but she seemed unconscious. Haerin's body was extremely hot, likely due to the cold and rainy weather last night. If only I had given her my jacket earlier...
I called my bodyguard Kim Minji to come and drive Haerin to the hospital. I was genuinely worried, unsure of how long Haerin had been running a fever. I thought about what to do if this ever happened again and how to keep a close eye on Haerin. My mind raced with countless thoughts.
Minji would arrive in about 10 minutes. First, I needed to figure out how to help lower Haerin's fever. I found a towel and wet it, intending to help her wipe away the sweat (I blushed).
I moved, intending to put Haerin on the bed and go find a towel.
I moved to put Haerin on the bed and then found a towel. However, Haerin turned, using the little strength she had left to grab my hand. So, sitting beside her seemed better. She took my palm and placed it on her forehead. Her discomfort slowly eased, likely due to the soothing warmth of my hand.
Fortunately, she was not fully awake yet, which meant she wouldn't be aware of my presence.
She appeared like a little cat trying to fluff her fur to intimidate any nearby threats. But, in the end, she was just a cat.
I had never observed Haerin so closely before. It's hard to describe everything about her face. Calling her beautiful would be an understatement.
I found myself gazing at her lips.
Danielle Marsh, don't let those dark thoughts consume you.
Yet, it felt like this might be the only chance for a long time to come in which I could meet Haerin. Or maybe, I didn't know when. This was my opportunity.
But Haerin was unconscious, and if I did... it felt perverted.
While I hesitated, Haerin leaned against my chest, hugging me tightly. My face suddenly grew warm.
There was no more distance between us, and our lips touched. They were soft, warm, and flushed with fever. Danielle, you should stop.
But it seemed like I had lost my mind. I continued to kiss her, and it deepened, my tongue even began to move.
My heart raced, and breathing became difficult. My mind seemed to freeze momentarily until I saw Minji in front of me.
We rushed Haerin to the hospital. Perhaps thanks to Hyein's popularity in college, it wasn't too difficult to obtain her number. Minji called her to come to the hospital. Minji then carefully deleted all the footage from the hospital's cameras with my image. I was grateful that Minji was one of those who covered for me, rather than just blindly serving HYBE.
As I watched Hyein arrive, I finally returned home, although not entirely reassured. There were still some matters that needed to be addressed. Did Minji see we kiss...or to be more precise, I kiss. My face was so hot, redder whenever I think about it.
