Chapter 2 - DAY OFF

DAY OFF

The smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls filled Hinata's kitchen. Well, even the company's president deserves a day off right?

Hinata, even too busy with their family's business still make it a point to have at least one day away from her office and she made sure that every Sunday is a total work free day for her. All concerns regarding the company shall be directed to the Senior Vice President, unless its an emergency of course.

Right now she makes herself busy in her kitchen baking her favorite pastry, which she already mastered over the years. She 's been too good in baking cinnamon rolls that in some point of her life she even thought opening a bakery with her favorite bread as the main menu.

She baked a total of six cinnamon rolls and she could eat all of that with one sitting but not today, someone will come and pay her a visit.

Ding dong...

The sound of the door bell made her heart skips a beat.

"It might be them.. but isn't it a bit too early?" A bit unsure she leaves the kitchen and she ran towards the door and didn't even bother to look at the peephole.

"Ohayou!"

Hinata was surprised alright but not the way she wanted to be. She leaned on the door jamb, arms crossed she interrogates the new comer.

"What are you doing here?"

"Got some news"

"Its Sunday Tenten!" Hinata snarled, yes she knew how to do that now.

The brunette wearing a white Chinese collared blouse and red capri pants gave her a skeptical look.

"Uhm yeah, I know" she said as she snap a folder between them.

Hinata gazed at the yellow folder Tenten flashed in front of her face, she swatted the folder in Tenten's arms and turned around.

"Bring that to Hokuto san, I don't do business during Sundays remember?"

Hokuto san, the senior vice pres. a tall slender middle aged man with silvery gray hair and bushy black brows. He can be a little irritating because of his bossy behavior but Hinata knew she can trust the guy.

Hinata's hand find its way to the knob to close the door but Tenten immediately pushed the door and let herself inside, much to Hinata's dismay.

"You know, I am having second thoughts of why I chooses you as my adviser" Hinata raised her hands and rolled her eyes as she walked passed through the beaming Tenten and go back to her cinnamon rolls.

"Well, first because I'm good... Second, because I am just SO damn good that you can't afford to lose me " Tenten sneered as she followed Hinata to the kitchen with the folder still in her hand.

Hinata went to the fridge and took out a box of fresh milk.

Tenten made her way to the mini bar that separates the dining area from the kitchen. She sat into one of the four bar stools and cupped her face with her hands as she watch Hinata still in her lavender silk robe drinking her milk.

"Stop staring Tenten you're giving me goose bumps" Hinata snapped.

"You should bring me to that gym you are working out- your body is great, look at you! I mean...even though.. you know, Jeez Hinata any guy will be so lucky to have you"

Hinata looked at herself, yeah she look a bit daring in her short silk robe but never did she thought of herself as sexy as Megan Fox or something... the truth is, she is sexier.

"I don't go to the gym" she answered plainly as she put the box of milk inside the fridge again. "... you know how busy am I right?". Hinata leaned to the bar top and faced Tenten. "RIGHT?" she repeated, for Tenten to realize that she wanted to have some free time.

"I'll contact Hokuto for you if you want" Hinata grabbed her phone at he counter top and started to scan her phone book.

"No can do Hina, you see Hokuto was the one who told me to bring this to you..." Tenten smiled and hand Hinata the folder.

"What... jeez!" Hinata shook her head and made a weary expression knowing that this one is under those emergency cases that she never wanted to happened during Sundays.

"Okay... you got me, so what is this?" Hinata grabbed the folder.

"The response..." Tenten answered as Hinata opened the folder and scanned what is inside. Hinata's expression changed as she read on, from weary to skeptical to surprised.

"Uh huh.. I can see through your face that you're going to say Great..." Tenten say beneath her breath.

"Great!.. this is Great Tenten!" Hinata's beautiful eyes grew wide.

"See..." Tenten shrugged. "So get yourself out of that sexy lingerie of yours coz' you just got yourself a date".

Hinata stopped and looked at Tenten as if she didn't heard what she just said.

"Wait.. What?!"

"The company's chairman just arrived last night and wanted to meet his future business partner for lunch."

"As in .. today?" But she had visitors today, her mind is battling right now but this is a huge deal... but business is business she hate this side of herself when she acts like her father.

"Yes... as in today.. not tomorrow but today, 12 o'clock at Kazue" Tenten replied, Kazue is a high end restaurant in Tokyo, it has a setting perched far above the fray on the 40th floor of the Park Hyatt with a contemporary look (soaring ceiling, stylish tables and chairs) to match the confident modern inflections on kaiseki (japan's version of haute cuisine).

Hinata dialed a number... her supposed to be visitor. "Hanabi, I'm sorry but I'm going out today... yeah I know.. . but this is important.. I'm really sorry you know how much I want to see you both right... yes, okay see you next week. bye!" and she ended the call.

"Ooops sorry I didn't know they'll gonna visit you..." Tenten put her hand on her lips.

"Now you know.. anyway .. you're going with me Tenten I still don't know that chairman after all" she said as she get the tray of cinnamon rolls. "Here have some.."

Tenten get a roll, "Sure thing.. that chairman is so gorgeous that I think I am going to have a boyfriend soon".

"Yeah Right!" Hinata said as she put the rolls in the fridge and made her way to her room.

"Feel at home... I'll just change"

"Okay!.. just don't be too beautiful okay!" Tenten tease as she went to the sofa and turn the TV on.
