Chapter 7 - That Smile

THAT SMILE

The blonde hit the floor, the impact was so intense that drips of blood stained the office' carpet. I stood frozen,  the sight of blood bring chills to my insides that it instantly weakened my knees. I immediately grabbed the top rail of the chair near me as if it is my life line.  

I saw Kiba raised his fist, aiming to charge once again. Struggling to stand up, his opponent was far more than being ready to receive the blow he is about to give. For Pete's sake Kiba has been training for years, his second blow might cause critical damage to Naruto.

Without any options in mind and with shaking knees, I immediately ran and grabbed Kiba's arm puling it tightly but his strength was far more beyond mine making it impossible for me to fully stopped this angry man.

"KIBA STOP!!!" I closed my eyes and cried aloud.

And everything stops...

I slowly opened my eyes, no, I didn't stopped him.

 "D*mn it Hinata!... what was this all about?" It was Kiba himself who stopped on his own, his fist just inches away from Naruto's face, now with blood dripping from his mouth. Again, I was weakened by the sight.

Unconsciously, I  released Kiba's arm and stood between them, facing Kiba.

"Please Kiba kun... don't" 

"Let him Hinata... " I heard Naruto from behind me, I glanced at him over my shoulders and I saw that he already pulled himself up wiping the blood from his lips using the hem of his sleeves.

"Hinata, get out of the way so that idiot can get what he wants!" Kiba growled. "Seriously? first with Toneri and now with this fool? C'mon Hinata!"

"I said stop!" I shouted in return "Just.. stop"My voice raising, I looked at Naruto "..and you? what are you doing here?"

But before Naruto could answer, Kiba walked passed me and grabbed Naruto's collar.

"How dare you show yourself again huh? after what you've done to Hinata... You promised not to make her cry remember?! God forgive me Naruto but I really want to beat the hell out of you right now" Kiba threatened, now trembling in anger.

"Kiba.. Please let me handle this.." Again I grabbed Kiba's arm, I can't let him talk anymore he might said something more than what Naruto needs to know.

Naruto just stared at Kiba, no, nothing, he just keep his mouth shut. Seriously what is he planning, I know he could fight, but if it is with Kiba I better not let it happen.

"Kiba kun.. I'll handle this ... please, just leave this to me" I placed my hand over his arm and looked at him pleading.

Kiba returned my gaze, his eyes still on fire, the last time I saw his eyes like this was when he discovered that Naruto left me six years ago even more when he found out that I am having a child. He is my best friend anyway, like an older brother to be exact. He was devastated as I was, that is why I really can't blame him now. But his actions right now may cause threat to his job, I really need to convince him to stop no matter what.

Kiba averted his gaze from me and stared at Naruto's bloody face. 

"We're not done Naruto!" he said as he let Naruto's collar go in a not so careful way making two of the upper buttons of Naruto's shirt pop off.

Naruto, without saying anything just looked at him in return, his blue eyes communicating as if saying that he'll gonna be ready the second time around.

Kiba paced to the door, as he touched the knob he stopped and without looking, he noted "I'll call you later, you better explain this in detail Hinata... " and then he was off. Great, now I got some explaining to do...
