A FRIEND IN NEED
"Minato Mirai.... the meeting will be in Minato Mirai?" I half squealed as I confirmed the place to my secretary via intercom.
"Yes ma'am it will start an hour after your meeting with the lumber supplier from Canada".
Unconsciously, I bit my lip, he is playing with my mind again. "Okay, inform my driver about this sudden change of schedules, Thanks ... and bring in some hot chocolate please..." I really need something sweet to calm my senses.
After I released the button I leaned at my table and put my chin over my hands and took a deep breath.
"Seriously? you really wanted to mess with me huh? in all places Naruto... you really choose Minato Mirai" I whispered to myself. "He is planning something.. I am sure of it".
I scanned the vastness of my office, from the bookshelves to the stainless steel cabinets, one still opened exposing neatly arranged envelops and folders. Five days a week I am confined in this room, checking reports, attending meetings and signing reports. For almost three years I am doing this over and over again... boring right? but I need to do this or thousand of families will have nothing to eat. I am working not only for myself but for the whole company, for the people working under me, that is the pressure I have been handling since father stepped down and passed this position to me.
Again, I just heard myself took a deep breath and sighed.
As I continue to scanned the expanse of my modern minimalist styled office, my attention was hauled at the small picture frame standing beside my laptop, in it was a picture of a small boy smiling ... ... hmmm grinning sweetly, I instantly smiled back and reached for it.
"I may hate him for everything but not for giving you to me..." this picture of my son was one of my favorites, taken a year ago - It was his first day in school. His smile really resembles his father's ... and that guy have the nerve to ask if this child is Toneri's! the thought really make me mad as hell, where did he even get that idea?
Before I let my mood worsen I returned my attention back to the picture - my stress reliever. This little boy played cool as he grinned at me while I took the picture but I knew deep inside that he is nervous for going inside his classroom alone - without me with him and when he came home he was too excited to tell me about his new found friends. He probably inherited his gutsiness from his father and his nervousness from me.
I only get to see this handsome little guy during Sundays, Hanabi and Dad took care of him back in Fukuoka during weekdays. I really wanted to be with him though... its just that I got all of these work and It is not healthy for the both of us if I'll keep him with me here in Tokyo.
But right now I just need to wait for a couple of weeks, until Hanabi's transfer. She will move here with me together with my son, and that thought keeps me motivated every single day.... well not until Naruto showed up ... Its like my world turns upside down.
"Hinata!"
"Hinata!"
"Hinata!"
I was taken away from my trance. "Wha?" I turned to where the voice was from.
"Hey pretty lady..."
"Kiba kun? what brings you here?" Kiba, my gorgeous best friend appeared at my office door holding a tray with my hot chocolate. Well I gave my secretary a list of people who do not need my permission and she can just let them in my office - anytime, and his name was definitely in it.
He saw me holding the frame, he walk towards me, placed the tray on my table and reached for the frame. "So how is my god son doing? he really looked exactly like Na- ... that idiot huh?"
