NOT ENOUGH
In a huge sophisticated office, two people stood just some meters away, only the sound of papers scattering on the marble floor was the only noise that can be heard.
Hinata looked across the room and locked eyes with the man she hadn't seen in six years, a man she hoped she would never see again. He was just standing there, watching her intently, with a look that made her shiver, his left hand still at his sleeves which were already rolled up to his elbow.
Hinata prepared herself countless times if this day would come, she just need to pretend that he has no effect on her. This was easier said than done, because she had trouble keeping her feelings in... feelings she couldn't explain... is it excitement?...no definitely not she surrendered that feeling long ago, hatred perhaps...
He'd been working all day, She wasn't sure how she knew but her practiced eye took in the tousled short blonde hair, the boyish face now defined with character, the sea-blue eyes settling a gaze on her that, even now, made her shiver. He looked fashionably rumpled in his half-closed white polo with his sleeves folded up to his elbows, his black tie a bit lose.
Tenten was right; he was drop dead gorgeous with little drops of sweat forming on his temple.
A sudden same image flashed in her mind reminding her of that night, that night when everything seems perfect, the love they shared was more than she could have ever imagined... only to end the morning after.
She couldn't bear to see him again. She hated that about herself. She wasn't supposed to be this way. She was supposed to be the invincible Hinata Hyuuga. Self-made Hinata Hyuuga, the woman who got it all. She was strong and independent, liked and admired. Influential, even. She was the President of the Hyuuga Empire for Pete's sake.
"Hi" Naruto broke the silence.
Hinata's eyes narrowed.
"Hi? am I supposed to answer that with hello?" she sneered, after all of these years, all he could manage to say was a simple hi?... Hinata wanted to laugh.
"Yes... no.. I-I mean" Naruto scratched the back of his head. "I didn't expect to see you... well not this soon".
"Soon? so you're planning to see me now?" Hinata let out a sarcastic laugh as her eyes begun to feel hot.
"How ironic."she uttered and averted her eyes and saw the documents lying on the marble floor.
"So this was all your plan right?..."Hinata aimed to get the papers but an arm grabbed her tiny waist and pulled her away from the scattered papers.
She was released a second later as Naruto gathered the documents and in one swift move pulled a pen from his chest pocket, put the tip on his mouth, pulled it open, gave her one final look before he quickly signed the documents.
"No?! Stop that!!!" she wanted to snatched the documents away from him but it was too late.
"Hyuugas don't turn away from their words right? so can we start the project tomorrow?" Naruto flashed his trademark grin as he showed her his signatures.
"This is pathetic! "She wanted to burst. That explains why the name of the Uzushio's President was left blank.
She aimed for the door but before she could reach it two strong arms hugged her from behind. She wanted to protest, his body heat sent shivers to her spine.
"Let go of me!!!"She protested and gave every inch of strength she got to escape from his grasp but Naruto was way way stronger and bigger than her.
