I check my phone for the hundredth time but I have no new messages. I keep checking to make sure Aiyden's alright or maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to turn around and go home.

When I get into the neighbourhood it's dark and almost 7pm. I decided to walk because it wasn't too far and I've never been one who's afraid of the dark. The neighbourhoods around here are quite safe (excluding Anatoly King) but even if they weren't I normally carry a little something with me for protection, not that I would need it. I've taken powerful people down with my bare hands before.

There's not too many people walking the streets, just a few groups here and there or people walking back from work. A few cars pass by me but most people's preferred method of travel around here is walking or biking.

I know how to ride a bike but I usually opt for walking. Aiyden can't ride a bike and I can't for the life of me figure out how to teach him. I would ask someone else for help but he doesn't seem interested in learning. He is only three though so he has plenty of time to learn if he wishes to.

When I reach the door of the restaurant I check my phone one last time for an excuse.

No new messages.

I toss my phone back into my bag and pull the strap further onto my shoulder before walking into the restaurant.

The left wall is made up of shelves, hundreds of bottles of wine filling up the space and sheltered behind a wall of glass. There's a big tree in the middle of the restaurant, the top of which is peeking outside. I'm unsure as to whether it's real or not.

Dim lights hang from the ceiling, candles are placed in the center of each table. Each place at each table is already set out with side plates, glasses and cutlery. There are napkins at every table as well as a salt & pepper shaker and a basket filled with freshly cooked bread.

There aren't that many people inside the restaurant but they are all dressed fashionably.

My eyes scan the room and when they land on him I find he's already looking back at me.

I walk over to where Anatoly is seated and sit across from him. I put my bag on the back of my chair and pick up the menu. I want this to be over as quickly as possible.

I hear Anatoly let out a small, breathy laugh.

"What?" I ask, looking up from the menu.

"No hello Anatoly, it's nice to see you?" He asks, amusement in his tone.

I return my focus to the menu. "Hi Anatoly it's nice to see you."

"It's good to see you too, darling." He says, going along with my greeting. "Now are you going to tell me your name?"

My eyes that are filled with amusement flick to his. He already knows my name, he just wants me to say it. "And what will I get if I do?" I challenge.

"All night, all you can drink wine on me." That sounds like a good deal to me.
