You gently open the door to your room as to not wake your friend if they’re alseep. You see them lying on your bed, on your pillow, as you left them. You feel terrible knowing they were in an accident, even though there was nothing you could do to prevent it.
Right as your about to close the door, your friend looks over at you. Not wanting to be rude, you walk in and close the door behind you.
Y/N: Hey, I just wanted to check up on you. How are you feeling.
Friend: I’m good, thank you.
You stay silent for a minute before getting onto your knees. You lie your body on your bed and pet your friend, stroking their hair with your finger.
Y/N: You know I’ll always be here for you right?
Friend: Yeah, I know
Y/N: so that means you can me for anything right?
Friend: Yeah, I guess
Y/N: so if there’s ever anything you need, please, just let me know.
You and your friend stay silent for a minute. After a while, you stand back up, getting ready to leave.
Y/N: I’m gonna let you rest for now, I’ll be back later to check up on you.
You begin to walk to the door before stopping after your friend calls out to you
Friend: W-WAIT
Y/N: Huh? What’s wrong
Friend: I… I actually want something
Y/N: what do you need?
Friend: a… a… a hug please
You can see your friend tearing up as they try to ask for a hug. You rush over and grab them, holding them close to your chest to comfort them. As you hold them, you gently descend to the floor to lie down and let them lie on top of you. They begin to cry a bit as you hold them close.
Friend: I’m… I’m sorry, I just need this.
Y/N: don’t apologize, you’re basically family to me, and I want the best for you so if we have to lie here for the rest of the day for you to feel better, we’ll lie here all day.
Friend: Thank you
Y/N: you’re welcome, and remember, if you ever need any help with anything, even if it’s nothing and you just need me to be there for you, I’m here.
