Ciel grumbled in annoyance as the giant across the room shifted in their seat again to a completely different position. For the past hour he’d been trying to draw Donovan but each time he’d make decent progress on the pose, the giant would change again, forcing him to redraw. His annoyance had been slowly building but finally snapped after he was forced to discard yet another sketch.
“Just stand still.” He growled to himself, his heart skipping a beat when the giant’s ears perked up. A few silent moments later, Donovan turned towards the small human on the table with a tilted head. Upon the bigger set of eyes landing on him Ciel tensed, with an amused look forming on the giant’s face once noticing this.
“What’d you say?” Donovan asked, with Ciel nonchalantly closing his sketchbook, keen on Donovan not knowing that he was drawing the giant.
“Nothing…” The human said, nervously scooting back. His heart started racing when Donovan got up, slowly walking towards him and staring with a playful glint in his eyes. Almost like how a predator would size up its prey.
Ciel yelped as Donovan abruptly dropped himself onto the table in front of him, shaking the very ground he sat on. His arms were planted on either side of him, leaving the giant looming over the human. “Is that so?” The smirk on Donovan's face did no favors for him, with Ciel diverting his gaze away from the giant’s face. “Then I’m sure you won’t mind if I see what you’re doing with that.”
He nodded over the sketchbook still in Ciel’s hands, with his eyes widening as he hid it behind his back, as if that would actually conceal it from Donovan. Ciel continued to scoot back, this time a bit faster. Though this was met by a hand quickly moving behind him, blocking his escape.
The human yelped as he hit the set of fingers, looking back at Donovan with wide eyes. A triumphant grin decorated his face, having Ciel just where he wanted him. “Let me see what you have there.” Upon seeing the frantic nods, he teasingly moved his two fingers closer to try and pry the book out of his hands.
“Okay, okay! Here.” Ciel grumbled, tossing the sketchbook over to Donovan haphazardly. He caught in between his forefinger and thumb, carefully bringing it up to his face.
Donovan, with some concentrated effort managed to open the tiny book, flipping through its miniscule pages. “Ah… You were trying to draw me?” To Ciel’s surprise the giant wasn’t teasing in tone, and looking up his heart fluttered at the soft smile he gave. “Well, by all means.” Donovan placed the sketchbook next to Ciel and returned to his chair.
Facing Ciel with a smirk as he struck a pose in his seat. “Please, do continue.” He amusedly hummed as a faint blush tinted the human’s cheek. Ciel complied, taking the sketchbook and flipping to a new page to begin again.
He had a feeling he wouldn’t have to redraw this one again.
