He hadn't slept.

Reason being that instead of the usual relaxed sleep, he'd closed his eyes and his mind had taken him straight to Dinah. Her delicate body pressed against his as he'd unlaced her corset, revealing the smooth porcelain skin underneath. He'd heard her gasps, her breaths. He'd heard how she uttered his name while his hand worked away between her legs, sending her over the edge.

It was only then he'd woke in a sweat, running his hands down his face to try and shake the image from him.

"Damnit". He'd muttered as he lay there for hours after, staring at the ceiling while contemplating how this might affect him.

She already had affected him...

He started his morning rounds as usual, coming to Dinah's room and knocking. "Doctor Rogers". He made himself known before he walked in.

She looked up as he did and then passed him the journal. "For later, doctor".

"Thank you. Listen I'm going to move your session to this evening".

"This evening?" She frowned.

He nodded. "Yes. I have some paperwork I need to get done, I'll schedule you for 6pm? If that's alright?"

Dinah shifted in her seat. "Very well, so you know how long the session will take?"

"It will take however long I choose". He replied in such a way that she wondered whether he was ok.

"Doctor Rogers..."

"I'll see you at my office at 6pm. I'll let the nurses and matron know that you'll be attending - and what I'll see you back to your room myself once we're done".

He tucked the journal under his arm as she looked up at him. "Well then, until this evening doctor".

"Until then, Dinah".

Walking out, he returned to his office and read her latest entry.

She called him Steve...

He read the entry over and over. She had dreamt of him just as he had with her. They had run together.

Ok, her dream had been far more savoury than his, but she had still been thinking of him regardless.

The entry was personal. It was to him. Not Doctor Rogers. But Steve.

He couldn't remember telling her his name, however it was on a plaque on his desk, so she had obviously got it from there when she'd sat in his office during their sessions.

Steve was suddenly aware that their dynamic had well and truly shifted.

He penned his reply and then closed the journal, putting it in his desk drawer for now, until their session later. For now he had work to do.

At 6pm dead on, Dinah knocked on Doctor Rogers office door, nervous as to what he would think of her recent entry.

"Dinah, come in - that will be all for this evening nurse. We're not to be disturbed unless I call for assistance". He instructed as the nurse nodded and headed off, happy to just be going to her break and not dealing with hysterical patients.

Closing for the door behind them, Steve turned the key so as no one could walk in. "Sit down..." he gestured to the usual chair she would take and watched as she delicately sat down. "So...I read your recent entry".

Her eyes met his. "Yes...it was quite a dream".

"So, Australia..."

"I've heard it's somewhere to go where no one will find you - I think that is what I'll have to do if I ever leave. Take a boat and sail away". She sighed and shook her head at the thought. "It will never happen".

"Never say never". He smiled as he sat opposite her. "You wanna know what I dreamt of last night?" As she met his eye he kept his focus on her. "You".

Her eyes broke the contact. "Me? Why?"

"Because it would seem that our entries have become that little more personal".

Dinah pursed her lips. "I shouldn't have..."

"No". He told her gently. "You should have. You can call me Steve, doctor...whatever, but you and I? It seems that we have something here". Now gesturing back and forth between them.

She agreed with this. "I think so too".

He was first to make a move, knowing that this was now just between the two of them.

Their secret.

He pulled her up from her seat and cupped her face in his hands before kissing her gently. Soft, deep. Her hands found themselves resting on his hips as she allowed him to move his own down her body.

"No one will know, these sessions now? They're just for us to know about". He assured her.

"And the journal?" She breathed in between kisses.

"In that journal, we can write anything we want. I mean anything. Like I said. It's just between us"

Dinah stopped and looked at him. "Doctor Rogers...I think these evenings sessions would benefit if pelvic massage were involved too. Purely to aid my recovery".

"Then I'll see that it is included in the new treatment plan".
