Today, I won't get to hangout with Neo because his schedules are packed. He has three straight classes in the morning and a play in the afternoon. Oh, God, I wanna see him so badly!
Grace and I took the same course so we are stuck here listening with only a video left by our Professor, who, by the way, went out to get some more materials in his office.
We are in the movie lab, the lights are turned off in the room aside from the projector projecting on the white board.
I am only wearing a freaking green off-shoulder and a pair of denim jeans. Of course, I am wearing the necklace Neo gave me. It is highlighting my outfit today. But I'm not gonna lie, it is pretty cold here.
"That skinny Professor will surely take forever to get back, Rhys." Grace laughed beside me. I hushed her for saying such rude things but also kind of agreed with her.
"Shut it and just watch the video, okay." I whispered.
"We need some live action in here instead of this." Pointing at the screen. "By the way have you seen my post on Facebook?" She asked, diverting my attention from the movie.
"The Starbuck's one?" I asked. That was the last post I saw.
"No, bitch!" She exclaimed, whispering. "You are so outdated. Do you even follow me on Fb?" She gently swatted my arm. I furrowed my eyebrows although she can't see it because the room is dark.
"So which post?" I whispered back, gently rubbing my pained arm.
"The one with..." Her voice trailed as the Prof came back.
After the movie ended, he continued the discussion. Grace and I also took some notes to study for later.
We talked a lot and at times but we know when to stop talking to each other. We focused on the entire lesson.
The class is over and we were dismissed. Grace and I went straight to the canteen to treat ourselves with carbonara, my fave, and some milk tea for her.
In the middle of eating, Grace finally noticed the necklace I am wearing. As an influencer that she is, and she call herself as "updated", she sure is not.
I heard her gasp and almost choked with the milk tea she was sipping. She slapped me both my arms and shouted like a mad man.
"Bitch, bitch what the f—" I held my finger to my lips to hush her.
"Gosh, Grace! Chill!" I exclaimed hushly. "What's the matter with you?" I asked, laughing and wincing at the same time. One, my arms are still hurting. Two, she cannot say a sentence without a single bad word coming out of her mouth. But she ignored me.
"No way, Rhys! That necklace of yours..." She stopped again. "Look here, bitch!" She took out her phone and scrolled, then showed it to me.
"No way, Rhys! That necklace of yours..." She stopped again. "Look here, bitch!" She took out her phone and scrolled, then showed it to me.
It was an Elena Gold Necklace. It was on her post. It says, it is in stock once again. It also says that there are only five five people who own this enchanting necklace.
"OMG, my online friend said she pre-ordered just yesterday from the original store..." I slowly look at her.
"Oh well, she is practically bragging to everyone how much the necklace is but I know for sure she can't buy it." Grace went on.
It is true. This necklace costs not less than Ᵽ170,000. Damn! I admit I cannot afford to buy this even if I save up all my allowance for how many years. Too many things that money can go to.
The tuition fee itself here starts at Ᵽ5,000 up to Ᵽ50,000, luckily, I got a full scholarship because my GPA exceeded over 96%.
"Damn. Why would Neo buy this?" I whispered. I get that he's rich pero hindi naman ako materialistic na babae.
"Neo bought you that? You are one lucky bitch!" Sinampal niya na naman ang braso ko.
"Gracia!
"I will tell Sophia, Terry and Penny about this!" She said as she aggressively typed up something on her screen. I just shook my head and swallowed my carbonara. As usual, the tuna mixed very well with the creamy sauce and pasta.
Sophia, Terry, Penny, and Grace are my best friends in high school. We were all inseparable up until in college. Our bond went stronger because we are all student leaders. Grace was the SSG President, Sophia the Vice-Pres, while Terry and Penny and I were leaders of a club in our school. I also joined the debate team as a member, of course.
Unfortunately, Sophia went abroad for college, I heard she pursues acting. She also has a knack in modeling. Terry went somewhere out of town, and Penny, too. Grace and I were the only ones in the same university.
I still live with my parents. Mine is 30 minutes away from the university and Grace's family home is an hour and 45 minutes away, if traveled by car. that's why Grace stays at a boarding house which is just a 5 minute walk from the university. Yes, that's close by.
We haven't bonded together since college started and it just me and Grace remained. I miss the girls so much.
"That girl Sophia is not replying. What a bitch!"
"Busy my ass!" Reklamo nito. She still care for her friends and she's the most caring friend that I knew. Promise.
"So are you and Neo getting married na ba?" She crossed her arms over her chest and smirked like a detective, questioning her suspect. I almost burst into laughter.
"What do you mean..." I said and quickly stopped as I remembered the kiss yesterday. It is not like that was our first time kissing. Yesterday, he was way too gentle with me. When he pulled away, I think it was the perfect timing. Imagine if he didn't? It might have escalated into something steamy and we don't want that.
"Shit ka talagang babae ka. Look at your necklace ang ganda. Bagay na bagay sa maputi mo ring balat." Hindi niya man lang napansin na naputol ako sa pagsasalita at hindi ko siya nasagot.
Patuloy pa rin siya sa pagbibigay compliment sa kwintas na para bang wala ng bukas.
"Saan daw yan binili ng Neo mo? Online or physical store? I mean saan naman, eh wala niyan sa Pinas? Fake ata yan eh?"
It was a crescent moon the night he confessed to me, the same night we had our first kiss.
"I guess I am just lucky to have him." Napangiti ako.
