danielle pov:
finally, my favorite season has arrived; autumn! it's always been my favorite season (other than summer) because of the cozy, comfortable vibe; everything turning red, orange, yellow, pumpkin spice lattes, the rain, clear skies while it's a bit chilly outside,..
and this year, it's also the season of a huge thing, yunjin's halloween party, which is about a month away from now, as it's the 30th of september. since it's a monday today, meaning it's a school day, i'm sitting here in the library with haerin for korean literature class, because our teacher gave us work to do.
"haerin-ah, let me find the last book we have to read",i whisper towards haerin, noticing that we're missing a book on the list of things we need for the assignment, getting a nod from haerin who has her nose buried deeply into the book, what a cute sight.
while i find the section where the book is supposed to be, my thoughts drift off to the past weekend, where i "helped" haerin with her english assignment, in which she, by the way, got an a, and also where haerin fell asleep for some time. i could've sworn that she had her head on my lap at some point of her nap, oh well.
"found it!",i say to myself, walking back to haerin and me's table as haerin is now writing an interpretation about the chapter that she just finished reading, so i smile at her, getting a gummy smile back from the cat-eyed girl while i turn to the page that i have to work on of my book.
when i finish reading the book chapter, the bell rings, indicating that it's now, finally, lunch break. as we put the books into our backpacks, our korean literature teacher dismisses us, sending haerin and me a proud smile as he walks out of the library.
"come, hae, let's go eat lunch!",i usher haerin, who's staring out of the window, taking her hand into mine. "okay, nielle unnie!",haerin replies, giggling, as i start running towards the cafeteria, looking for the girls at our usual table.
while haerin and me stand in the cafeteria's doorway (we left space for other students to walk past us), i notice three people, looking quite familiar at our usual table, "dani! haerin! over here!!", hanni calls out, waving her hand towards us.
"thank you girls for getting our lunches!",i sit down at our lunch table, haerin sitting down next to me as i get a shake of the head in return from minji, "it's nothing, dans, you said you had korean literature in the library so we thought it'd be less of a hassle for you two",minji answers thoughtfully, a swooning hanni coos at her lover, to which hyein and haerin gag playfully, hanni now shooting glares towards them.
after lunch, which was a really bonded time for the five of us, we walk hyein to her next class as the rest of us have the last few classes in our home rooms, meaning we're close to each other's rooms. "bye bye, unnies~ have fun in class! see you tomorrow since i have class until 2:45 pm", hyein smiles brightly, so i quickly hug her, all of us returning her words, "bye hyein-ah!", we say in unison.
since minji and hanni's classroom is at the end of the hallway and also the last classroom of the floor, they walked us to our homeroom, where we hugged each other and bid goodbye, promising to visit each other during the short 5 minute break.
once i sit down at my desk, haerin on my left,
i get out my stuff for social studies class, leaning my head on haerin's shoulder after doing so. "unnie, don't you just love autumn? it's so pretty",haerin mutters, loud enough for me to hear as i nod along.after approximately 3 minutes, our social studies teacher, ms. seol, arrives at our homeroom, commencing the class as i lift my head from haerin's shoulder, immediately missing the warmth.
3rd person pov:
as the last few minutes of their last class drag by, danielle leans her head onto the cat-eyed girl's shoulder again, wanting to be close to the latter, a smiling haerin looking down at her before she goes back to focusing on class.
"okay class, your homework until wednesday is to read page 20-35 of your book and to write an interpretation about that, you're dismissed",their music teacher says, perfectly on time for the bell to ring, as he leaves the classroom.
"finally!",danielle breathes out, stretching her arms over her head as haerin giggles, packing her stuff into her backpack as danielle does the same.
once the two childhood best friends have finished cleaning up their homeroom along with their other classmates, they leave the classroom, getting greeted by minji and hanni to walk home together.
after about 20 minutes, danielle arrives at her house, opening the door with her key as her mother joyfully greets her youngest daughter, "hi sweetheart! how was school?",she asks danielle, who replies happily to her mother, ranting about her feelings towards haerin.
after the talk with her mother, who ended up urging danielle playfully to confess to the younger girl, the eighteen year old changes out of her school uniform and into some comfy clothing, a zip up hoodie and a pair of sweats, laying down onto her bed after doing so.
let's say if she ever confessed to haerin, would they still be friends? how would the latter react? would she be grossed out by danielle? no, that's not a possibility, the cat-eyed girl is bisexual herself. but danielle just knows, that she would still want to be friends with haerin even if she ever rejected her.

quick reminder that next week i start school again, so probably not too much updates on this story for a bit, but regardless of that, i hope you enjoy reading this chapter and the coming chapters and stay safe and healthy!!
