3rd person pov:

as the month of october slowly comes to an end, it being the 30th of october, the halloween party of yunjin coming up, the friend group have met up to sleep over at hyein's, who probably has the least strict parents among them, and also the biggest house, having a pretty big room with it's own ensuite.

"oh my god, hyein, i actually forgot how rich you are.. you have your own bathroom!!",hanni exclaims once they've all settled down on mattresses next to hyein's bed, there still being enough room for one or two more people, as everyone (but hyein) agrees, all rambling on about also wanting their own bathroom, to which haerin just smiles, agreeing with the rest of them.

of course, danielle and haerin are sleeping next to each other, as so are minji and hanni, all of them already in comfortable clothing, just sitting on their mattresses (and bed in hyein's case), enjoying each other's company.

after quite a while of the teenaged girls talking with each other, making and drinking pumpkin spice lattes, telling horror stories, doing karaoke and playing monopoly, the five of them still aren't even a wink tired, so they decide to take a walk along han river, which used to be their usual meet up spot.

"haerin-ah, aren't you excited about the halloween party?", danielle turns towards the cat-eyed girl walking next to her, whereas the other three are walking in front of them, to which the younger nods, smiling foolishly at danielle while doing so, oh that made danielle fall in love with her best friend even more, if possible.

a bit later, having walked quite a long time now, danielle and haerin doing so in silence while the other three happily laugh at something, danielle cracks a smile, having missed just being carefree, leaving her mind to think of nothing and everything.

suddenly, danielle remembers an assignment that they have to have done and then give a talk on it by next week, quickly realising that she hasn't even started doing it. "hae, did you do our assignment for history yet?", danielle, again, turns towards the younger one, who's been quite quiet for some time, expect for her quiet humming along to a song.

"what? unnie, it's not due until after finals, don't stress", haerin replies, closing her puffer jacket as it's quite windy and cold outside, not to mention that it's now 9:40 pm, so it's naturally colder. "huh? i thought it's due next week.. don't we have to give a talk on it?", danielle questions once more, haerin shaking her head.

"no, unnie, you probably mixed it up with one of your electives, but not in history",haerin answers, kind of getting irritated now, it being obvious by her facial expression, eyebrows scrunched up and voice slightly raised. "oh.. alright, i'm sorry..", danielle flinches lightly, pouting as she looks away from haerin.

after a short silence, haerin stops walking, turning towards danielle now as she holds onto the older's wrist, making the korean-australian let out a confused hum.

"dani unnie, why are you apologising?? you did nothing wrong, i was just being pissy, i should be the one apologising, so, i'm sorry, don't you dare apologise for no reason again, unnie", haerin softens up again, her eyes full of honesty and practically begging for forgiveness, being, of course, forgiven by danielle as she can't stay mad at the latter.

now, as the two best friends started walking again, both with smiles painted onto their faces, they notice that minji, hanni and hyein are nowhere to be seen. "where did those three pranksters go?", danielle mutters under her own breath, somehow loud enough for haerin to hear, who gets her phone out of her pocket, her phone screen lighting up as a message from their shared group chat appears.

"'we went back to hyein's, hanni got cold, you two stay safe!' minji unnie wrote that", haerin reads the message out loud, danielle groaning jokingly as the cat-eyed girl can't help but giggle at her best friend's reaction, "great, they left us behind, do you wanna walk for a bit more?", danielle nudges the younger one's shoulder, already knowing the answer.

"yes! and, well, atleast they texted us about it, come let's go, nielle unnie!!",haerin takes danielle's hand excitedly, running along han river with her childhood best friend and crush of seventeen years.

as the two best friends decided on walking the long way back to hyein's house, meaning to walk through a little passage of downtown seoul, where, even at a little after 10 pm, there's a lot of cars and people walking, it being pretty crowded but not too crowded, haerin having made a joke as they both laugh out loud, not caring about what other's might think of them, their hands intertwined with each other's.
