"We should get back," Josette whispered as she swam away from Kane—leaving him to watch her climb onto the bank and drip-dry off, "Are you just going to stare at me?"
Kane chuckled as he paddled closer, "I am tempted to go a second round with you."
Josette sighed, "I'm too sore..."
"Ahh, too big for ya?" He winked and wiggled his eyebrows.
"Ugh.." Josette rolled her eyes, picking up her dress and undergarments, "I can't stand you."
"You didn't seem to have a problem with me when you were milking my cock, little dove."
Josette shook her head and turned away from him, not waiting for Kane to emerge from the water and walk back with her.
"This is so ridiculous.." Josette muttered to herself as she saw the light of the campfires, "Why did I do this?"
"Because you wanted me," Kane was by her side in a flash, causing Josette to jump, "Admit it—it was good."
Catching her breath, Josette nodded, "I didn't say it wasn't..."
"So we're gonna do it again?"
"You're insatiable."
"I aim to please.."
Josette tripped over her own two feet and landed in a puddle.
"Shit.." Josette said, grabbing her wrist.
Kane squatted in front of her, "Are you OK? Let me see that wrist."
"It's fine..." Josette winced, "I just..it's fine.."
"I was just inside of you, Josette...I want to make sure you're alright."
"I can heal it..I just have to catch my bearings.."
Kane touched her wrist gently. Josette felt a light zap and then her pain was gone.
"How did you..?"
"I'm a healer, little dove," Kane smiled, picking her up and cradling her to him.
"You can put me down, Mr. Dempsey."
"I don't want to and you're not going to fight me."
"Who says?"
"I do..I can make your life miserable the next six days, but I don't want to."
"I can do the same."
"I am most certain you can, but why? Just let this happen.."
"Let what happen?"
"My desires for you take over."
Josette wasn't in an arguing mood, nor did she expect Kane to say something like that.
His desires? Typical...
She found herself wrapping her arms around him and resting her head on his shoulder.
"That's it, dovey.." Kane whispered, "I know I wore you out.."
Josette felt herself drifting off to sleep, "Thank you..."
Kane chuckled, the low rumble from his chest vibrating through Josette's body.
Waking up to the sound of thunder in the distance, Josette found herself curled up next to Kane—in his arms in fact. Kane's arm was holding her close to him and they were on some blanket next a good six feet from one of the campfires.
She shifted slightly and Kane pulled her back in, but she was able to wiggle free.
"Josette..?"
"I just need to stretch.." Josette told him, watching the lightening off in the distance between the trees.
Kane sat up and yawned, "We should probably head to the caravan. Storm's about to come through."
Cecil was already on top of things—gathering belongings and helping put out the fires before any big wind came through.
"Hey.." Maribel said to Kane as they made their way back to the caravan, "Why don't you come and hang out with me in my carriage?"
Josette eyed her, but didn't turn to look at Kane who was hesitant about leaving Josette behind. When Josette thought he'd turn and leave with Maribel, she found him helping her into their carriage and shutting the door, "Do you need a blanket?"
Josette's heart fluttered. She gazed at the sleepiness in Kane's eyes as she wrapped the blanket around herself.
"I don't want her," Kane said as they settled in, "I don't know why I have the urge to tell you that, but I do."
Josette shrugged, "It's not my place to tell you what or who to do, Kane.."
Kane stroked her cheek as she placed her head on the soft seat, "I know..I just...maybe you mean more to me than what I thought."
Josette tensed, her eyes flying open as she tried to read him.
"What do you mean? Do you think you're going to hurt me by being with other women?"
Kane shrugged, "I don't want to be with another woman..."
Josette didn't like where this was going.
"Don't play with my emotions, Kane. I'm not in the mood. I like what we did, but that was it. I am not even sure we're friends."
Kane nodded, "Point taken."
He grew cold after that, much to Josette's surprise—leaving her to cuddle with the blanket as the rain beat down on the carriage.
Josette sighed and shifted to the other side of the carriage, watching the rain slip down the windows.
She looked into the forest and could make out some flashing lights..pixies...maybe fairies?
The rain had turned into a light drizzle so she found herself stepping out and walking slowly towards the lights.
Looking around, the whole area was pretty quiet—even Kane hadn't moved when she exited the carriage.
"Hello?"
She gathered her strength and continued on until the light seemed to be going further away.
"Well, that's not going to happen. Nope...I am not falling into that trap.." she mumbled to herself, slowly backing away and placing a bind on whatever was ahead of her, trying to lure her into the forest.
She took two more steps back and ran into something warm and hard.
"You look like a mighty fine feast, little witch.."
