Kane's Throne

Slipping into the room opposite of the parlor, Cyril chuckled.

"We're not all bad, I'm just not one of those fucking angelic centaurs you love so much. I'm sorry about that, though. You and I were such good friends. "

"When did this happen and why?" Josette struggled in his hold as Kane tossed open the door, but was held back by her glare.

"She's a smart one, mutt, " Cyril said, "I won't be here long. Possesed ole Ned back when we met up on the road. Needed to get info and supplies and make sure all of you stayed where you needed to so I could pull off my plan. "

"What the fuck is going on?! " Kane yelped,"You hurt her and I'll kill you. You know that. I will not hesitate."

Cyril shoved Josette into Kane's arms.

"I've no intention of hurting her. It was never my intention of hurting either one of you. "

Josette frowned, "Then give Ned back to us! What have you done with him?"

Cyril sighed, "Ned comes and goes, darling. I've got plenty of information now that I've passed along so I'm sure you'll get your precious Neddy back soon. I'll be long gone."

"Dark arts... " Kane shook his head, "Possession. You've got allies in the forest! "

"You'll never even believe what we have in store for the Realm! Chaos, our chance to take down the Moon dynasty.. pure bliss when the centaurs rule. "

Kane and Josette glanced at each other, but goaded Cyril to continue.

"What?" Kane smiled,"Who says we don't want in? You think I wanna stay in the hell hole forest forever?"

Cyril frowned, "The two of you just fought in the war.. for the Light Side."

Kane laughed, "You don't know shit, Cyril. How many times could we take down folks and we didn't?"

Josette smiled, "He's right. I just got kicked out for practicing dark arts, Cyril. Come on! You didn't know? You're a smart guy! I've known you forever!"

Cyril pursed his lips together and grinned. He was being had and didn't even realize it.

"If you two wanna know, we can't stay here. We have to leave the village," Cyril said,"Anyone else with ya?"

Josette nodded,"Plenty. Go back to Ned's cottage and we'll meet you there this evening. "

Kane put a hand out and grabbed Cyril before he could leave,"But you give us Ned back or we'll kill ya and your centaurs."

Cyril nodded, "Deal."

The three quickly exited the home through the back door. Cyril rushed off to Ned's cottage while Josette and Kane made their way to the edge of the village and away from any spying eyes.

"What are we going to do?!" Josette asked as Kane paced back and forth,"I've got no powers and we don't know who else is involved! Can we pull this off? We've got to warn everyone! Kurt, Esthr, Augustus! "

"What did you hear when you were listening in on my family?"

Josette took a step back, her eyes taking on a sadness Kane hadn't seen before.

"Your uncle isn't your real uncle, Kane. He was adopted by your grandparents. You're the true Alpha."

"I'm... he's... "

"They killed your parents, Kane. I'm so sorry.. "

"They... my parents ... " Kane's body trembled, his eyes turned golden and his fangs seared through his gums,"For power.. "

Josette reached out to him, soothing Kane's inner beast.

"We need a plan. Cyril doesn't have any allies here, that I'm sure of. He thinks he has us which means we need to get others on board to get back to the Castle Lands. "

"It's too far, " Kane shook his head,"We have to get to your coven. "

"I can't go back there!" Josette sobbed,"I.. What if.. "

"I don't know if Maribel is working with Cyril. If anything, she messed up their end of the deal by having you abandoned and hurt."

A rustling sound was heard behind them and Kane pushed Josette out of frame.

"Who goes there?!"

"It's just me .. it's Daisy.."

Daisy stepped out of the shadows and into their line of sight.

"I'm not an enemy and I knew nothing until today about what my father did. Please believe me! I want to help you both and end the evil that Cyril wants to wreak on the Shadow Realm again!"

"How are you going to do that?" Kane asked.

Daisy smirked, "Oh come on! I'm the daughter of the alpha, remember? I've been on adventures before. Let me go back to your coven and tell them the truth. The two of you can make sure to keep an eye on Cyril. "

"I.. don't have a way to reach you.. "

Josette lowered her gaze, knowing her powers were stripped and she had no familiar yet.

"Look, there's been some weird animals lurking around. Cats, actually. One of them might be yours! If they're feeding off your emotions, your familiar has to make an appearance soon, I'm sure!"

Kane turned to his beloved and grinned,"Really? A cat, little dove?"

Josette smiled,"We don't choose them, they choose us. "

Kane looked back at Daisy and narrowed his eyes,"I swear if you hurt any innocent people, especially my woman, I will end you and your brother."

Daisy nodded,"You have my word, cousin. Darcy and I have been treated like runts since we were born so it's about time all of these people pay for what they've done. "
